If you don’t want to pre-order, don’t. But don’t just assume that the cancelation of a playtest means the game is broken.

Announcing they’ve gone gold, two months prior to launch, is surely to assuage doubts that the game is being rushed or incomplete.

It’s the correct move, and shows that they believe in their product. Hopefully it isn’t a deception.

Genuinely hope this one turns out great, as I loved the first game.

Saying “we finished” doesn’t equate to them believing in their product, you know what shows they don’t believe in it? Canceling the play test. They’re gold with two months to go, yet no beta and we’re supposed to take that as “the devs believe in their product!!!”??

I too hope it is a success but come on now

Pre order a game that cancelled it’s playtest a couple weeks ago due to most likely being behind schedule.

Uh oh I hadn’t heard that news. I’ve been looking forward to this game but maybe I should brace myself for a rocky launch.

So many people pre-ordered that they are bragging about it going “gold” before it even releases. I expect this is going to have some serious quality problems when it releases.

That’s not what “going gold” means.

It means that they’ve completed development and are prepping their final release CDs/builds.

Functionally, it means development has stopped because the dev team has deemed it complete enough for physical release builds.

Just don’t preorder and wait for Playtests or maybe also just the first few days after release. I’ll probably do the second even
