The devil’s work was convincing people that pauses in speech are denoted by commas.
That is what happens when you prioritize dogma and obedience over critical thinking and proper moral values. You get conned by the dumbest cult leader

To be fair, evangelicals themselves have been a means to that end. They are the bastardization of religious values to get their personality cults to give their rich assholes what they want while having to pay only the barest lip service to ethics and morality. Most established religions have to suffer at least a schism or two when they get that bad.
Evangelicals are the political remnants of Jim Crow Southern Baptists who schismed because they could not accept anything short of Slavery being a holy commandment from God.
They wear different clothes, and pretend they’re different, but take the hoods off and they’re exactly the same.
They’ll just say he’s the antichrist and that’s a good thing because they want to be raptured sooner rather than later
Trump being the antichrist would make me a believer. I’d definitely feel better knowing the people supporting him is due to something supernatural.

It has changed a few minds so far.
Yeah, that’s definitely a bigger trick than the Keyser Soze thing.
Literal anti-Christ.
I don’t think the devil is happy with this comparison.
I think it’s totally logical how Christians behave. The whole point of religion is to believe something despite there being no evidence for it and also in spite of evidence contrary to their believe.
It’s not logical to Christians.
It’s logical to Southern Baptists, who literally split their convention because the Triennial Convention wasn’t “Pro-Slavery” enough, they added their endorsement of The Curse of Ham to SBC dogma: https://baptistnews.com/article/curse-ham-black-baptists-question-place-sbc/
When your entire region is literally mono-maniacally obsessed about racism in every area of life, it leaves a mark.
Good article with great quotes by Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
