MAGA will leave NATO, and form an alliance with Russia, China, North Korea, and others (probably Turkey, Hungary, etc.). As a show of good faith, Russia will demand the return of Alaska, and China will demand Taiwan, and HitlerPig will give it to them, because they’ll say he can have Canada and Greenland in return. He’ll like that deal because they are bigger, so he will feel like he’s got the better deal.

I have a some very close friends who are Venezuelan. They all claim they aren’t worried because they are citizens, but I’m not so sure. The MAGA Nazis don’t respect Birthright Citizenship, they certainly aren’t going to respect naturalization.

Bottom line: If you were born somewhere else, they want you gone.

Why can’t it be both? After America, Russia is literally the worst threat to the world, with the possible exception of China. They should be roundly condemned for their military aggression.

Why can’t that be true, and still condemn genocide in Gaza, the West Bank, and American Homeland Security?

I fully expect that Stephen “PeeWee Himmler” Miller has an active plan to establish concentration/ death camps in the United States, and I speak out against that as well. I have often spoken of the 30,000 bed facility they are building in Guantanamo, which most people don’t know about.

Claiming that I am somehow insensitive to genocide is simply silly. I am perfectly capable of holding opinions on both issues.

That trade war bullshit wasn’t some economic strategy, it was naked market manipulation, causing predictable drops and rise in the market. He would even make announcements, so those in the know could time their trades. It was criminal insider trading, nothing more.

The closest we got was with FDR, but the war took over all priorities and kept him from following through on his full agenda. We got a lot of good stuff out it though, including Social Security.

It’s not about making America anything AGAIN, I don’t think we’ve ever really met the true potential of our origins. I’m hoping that if we get through this MAGA nightmare, we recognize that we will have a unique opportunity to rebuild a better America, in which our strengths can be directed toward improving our nation and the world, instead of exploiting them.

I’ve read a number of the best modern biographies of Washington, and none of them excused his ownership of slaves.

You are following the Republican motto: Don’t bother me with facts, my mind’s made up.

I have not been arguing that. America is a fucking mess right now, and I’m afraid that it may be the end for it.

I have said before that I have a history degree, and also that I am politically independent, so nobody is more aware of America’s problematic history, and all my life I have struggled to reconcile that history with my personal morality. I honestly remember the moment as a kid in school, when I thought about the slaves, and the Indians, and then about how America was supposed to be so great after doing all those terrible things. I have recognized our flaws from a very early age.

However, I have faith in the original concept of America as a nation where all people can be free and equal. I am well aware that we have violated those tenets routinely, but I have lived my life advocating for political issues that would make America adhere to the philosophy of freedom under which we were founded. So while we may act as reprehensibly as some of the worst nations on the planet, I naively optimistic that we will eventually take out nation back, and force it to follow the positive philosophy that is supposed to be our foundation.

I do not defend America’s problems, but I am hoping for America’s redemption.

He IS worse than them. The only reason he isn’t owning slaves and outright killing people is because he’s only been in power for a few months. But he is already responsible for the deaths of thousands, and they are preparing for a future in which prison slaves will be a major labor force in America.

He is easily the most corrupt president in all of history, and he is the ONLY president who attempted an Insurrection in order to install himself as Dictator for Life. He also stole hundreds of classified documents to sell to our enemies. No other president has tried any of that.
