Quebec and Ontario

An often noted oddity of the Canadian population is to draw a horizontal line at Windsor Ontario and a vertical line at Huntsville Ontario … everything south and east of that line is 90% of the Canadian population.

They need to replace Singh from the leadership … I have a lot of respect for him and I do appreciate him but you have to be realistic, the majority of the country is still very conservative Eurocentric minded population. The majority of the country do not identify with a politician with a turban. I have no problem with it but there are still many, many people out there that will never support someone like this. Singh also brings in the controversy and troubles of the Sikh / Indian controversies.

I hate to say it and hate to admit it but the only way that the NDP can grow is for the leadership to be replaced by someone who is white but at the very least someone who does not identify with a specific ethnic / religious group by wearing a piece of clothing to identify themselves.

I am a lifelong NDP supporter … I voted for them in my riding here in northern Ontario. But I do know from personal experience and from talking to people in my area that the greatest stumbling block for them voting NDP is that they just can’t identify with a leader who represents a very small ethnic minority in the country.

I thought that was their only form of communication

And I feel like this would be a great area for David Attenborough to do a nature documentary on

Another example of how the US is slowly and incrementally regressing

I try to be careful and selective of the channels I watch … especially when it comes to research, history and documentaries … I prefer actual presenters or at least their voice overs and a description of who they are, what they’ve done and a bit of info of who they are (so that I can go on to research and verify for myself who they are) … if I can’t place a name or identity to them or their background, then I usually don’t watch them.

I’ve gone away from most modern Egyptology channels because they so very often drift into either the super natural, the unbelievable or just outright conspiracy theory territories.

I like watching nonsense stuff like restoration videos … they’re not hard to watch … but I do watch out for the new generation of content creators like the Asian ones who dump a sewing machine in the mud for a month and miraculously find it in a swamp and bring it back to new

For the past few months I’ve been slowly going through ‘Fall of Civilizations’ … a well researched channel with a presenter I trust and the content is well versed and full of details I’ve never heard or read before … it feels like an academic lecture with the most inspiring, entertaining and concise speaker you can find. I find this type of channel very relaxing.

You are a monster … I spend hours watching furniture and small engine restoration videos … documentaries and history … now you’ve given me a new branch of content to watch.

I can both simultaneously thank you and curse for this information. Regardless, I’m happy to have met you.

Definitely not … I’m 100% Indigenous Canadian and I was born and raised here … but I’m a brown long haired Native guy and I would not go into the US right now.

If you’re white you have a good chance of nothing happening … but a higher chance than ever before of being arrested because of something border guards read on your mobile phone or social media posts.

Watery tart: … I gave some random guy a sword and now his family thinks they own an entire country.

Who would want to fly to the States right now? When there is an increased chance of getting arrested for something, anything and thrown in jail.

How many Americans want to fly right now? They can’t afford it.

The same people who said they would remove big government that tries to control everything and everyone

I’m in northern Ontario and I was out driving around away from home in another nearby town when the 2003 North American black out happened. I found out about it because I needed gas and every gas station was down. Everyone had to gather at the one station in town with a back up generator.

When I talked to my friends about it after, one friend I know was a technician at one of the hydro power generating centers in the far north told me he had missed an opportunity to catch the cascade. He said they have people monitoring everything all the time and usually they can spot a cascade power outage coming their way of given enough time. He said the stations in the north had time and his was just in the edge of being able to react in time but he was in the toilet when it happened! … he left his post for a few minutes like he always did and just at that moment, the cascade happened and it passed their station. I laughed at him and joked that he was probably asleep at the time.
