i’m currently on the same boat, fp5 with murena’s OS. i believe we read the same article and i also read graphene OS’s posts on mastodon about murena and it’s founder.
im thinking about switching to Lineage sometime soon(?) and do heavy customization there. I don’t really use murena’s features (i hate the launcher but i knew i would before installing) and i’m not finding anything useful for me on /e/OS.
from september to january/february i was running ubuntu touch, which was fun, haven’t checked back on the project for quite some time (i had to do some scary stuff to come back to android tho)
didn’t the developer of calyx os harass people from the graphene os project?
i’m honestly thinking about getting a feature phone…

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How often are your windows open? What about during Winter? or during Summer? Do you open windows to let in fresh air?
2·2 months agoMaybe you could get a dehumidifyer, measure the humidity first to figure out if it’s necessary

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do I look like shit some days?
11·2 months agoit may be psychological (that doesn’t mean is not real tho) and that sucks
or it may be because of inflammation, it causes subtle differences in the way you look (specially how you see yourself). most people won’t notice tho
yeah that sucks, time to bring out the gullotine
and funding science research!!
not so fond of military/police spending tho
i unironically love paying my taxes (free quality (mostly) healthcare go brrrr)

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If real life loaded like a video game did, what would the loading screen tips be?

Linux@lemmy.ml•Can i install Debian with no DE and mix programs from several DEs?
1·3 months agosure, but in doing so you have to follow the rules:
- be mindful of what you install
- dont be afraid to remove stuff
- have fun :3

2·3 months agoyou’ve said it yourself, you didn’t use basque outside of school
the education system acknowledges this and makes you repeat the curriculum year after year, so you can get your B2 certificate upon finishing high school
i’ve been a tuta (paid) user for 3 years and im thinking of self-hosting or switching providers bc i now want to use a third party client
i want to check out mailo because they support custom domains and have catchall functionality and are in the EU (like tuta) but allow third party clients

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the biggest case of planned obsolescence you've dealt with?
7·5 months agoit can be relatively easy to get linux in chromebooks, i love them
i bought an Acer CB311 intel (x86) second hand for half the price and put linux on it like 4 years ago, it was my main computer until last year my dog knocked a glass of water next to it (it’s alive but i messed up the screen and keyboar using the blow drier)
after that i bought a new acer CB314 (arm cpu) and have been really happy with it
longest baterry lives ive seen and they are perfect for some light development
taco_daemon@lemmy.zipOPtoUnixporn@lemmy.ml•[OpenBox] First time running FreeBSD (thinkpad r61 btw)
1·6 months agooh that’s good to hear, i might give wayland a try, hell i can also test on a 32 bit machine that i installed OpenBSD to (haven’t really used it since)
do you happen to remember which CPU you were running? how was the performance, these R61s are kinda maxed out (regional government really likes to flaunt it’s money sometimes)
i wonder if niri would work on these, my arm64 chromebook flies with niri!
that’s true, but from what i’ve seen these gigantic cars really don’t offer that much more space; if space/capacity was really a concern family buses/vans whatever would be much more popular. where i live most people i see on SUVs are alone on their car, bigger families just get a Citroen Berlingo <3
but yeah people do like big cars

5·6 months agoit’s been a long time since i’ve used X11 (haven’t tried wayland on such old hardware), decided to go classic, OpenBox was the first WM i used!!

3·6 months agothanks!! this is my main computer now
not USanian but afaik cars got so big over there because trucks (being work vehicles) have less (environmental, safety, …) regulations than cars, that’s why SUVs got so popular, manufacturers pushed them onto public. as long as the base for the vehicle is that of a truck they are legally exempt from many limits.
source: probably “Not Just Bikes” on y*utube idk
EDIT: just read about the chicken tax, interesting…

commit history on a couple of their projects, haven’t checked all ofc
