Why do you say things like ‘goal posts’ and ‘strawman’ instead of actually talking like a conversation. From what I can tell the person you were responding to was talking about what made a difference, not what people care about. Many people care a lot about all the issues you mentioned but they were saying that the protests and boycotts didn’t directly make much of an impact against these companies or groups.
I don’t understand your animosity haha, I’m not offended, it just came off as a clunky way to communicate. I’m not the defeatist you were talking to, I’m incredibly optimistic. I agree that we should protest and boycott. The way you are communicating is like you’re trying to fight me, you don’t even know my position!
Not everyone here has to subscribe to your defeatist logical dumpster fire that you’ve so obviously eaten up. Taking action and speaking up works. Not sorry.
Like if someone started a polite conversation with you on the street this is how you would respond? I’m on your side, you can chill out.
You’re right, I did mix streams here a bit, but to be fair you interjected into the conversation which was already at speed, and you just kinda stopped on the tracks. Not an excuse, I should do better to recognize the situation separately from my feelings about it and make rational communication choices.
You misunderstand, I’m not saying you shouldn’t, but don’t act surprised that the trains is moving as fast as it is just because you weren’t already moving at that speed too
However, like I said, I’m taking responsibility for not being aware of people hopping onto these sets of tracks every now and then, and taking it a bit slower at these areas

Okay but even then… I think he’s wrong.
Walmart changed their wages. That shit did work.
Global warming protests have resulted in numerous policy being put out and other various wins amongst losses.
Blizzard had several high ranking individuals step down, there were settlements given for the law suits etc etc.
Not everyone here has to subscribe to a defeatist logical dumpster fire that many seem to have taken up (in general)
Taking action and speaking up works if you get enough people together and can cooperate and operate as a supportive team.
EDIT: removed my bull in China shop response to this poor person just trying to explain what they were talking about 🤦🏻♂️

My bad!
True but this is a public forum :p maybe it was unnecessary on my part lol, no worries.
