Just watched this the other day and I regret not watching it sooner. One of the better films to ever grace modern cinema. The three villain archetypes and the simple yet intersecting goals gives focus to developing each of the characters.
And Death has been immortalized in my memory. Especially with that iconic whistle. I find myself just humming it at times. Especially when I turn a dark corner. Haha. 😆
What about you? What are your thoughts?
I’d heard good things from friends but never saw the first one so went back and watched that first. It was fine but nothing exceptional, so I went into The Last Wish with middling expectations but was completely blown away. Just a fun, smart, and gorgeous film from start to finish.
I agree. It is gorgeous and fun. And it also has some deep emotional and thought-provoking moments. For a kid’s movie, the subtle reminder of death and Puss’s creeping mortality throughout the movie adds a layer of dread. And that whistle just wraps it in a very intriguing bow. :)
