The only way Bernie can win a position of power is by revolt of the bases through the primaries, because the party establishment is not going to allow it any other way. Aside from his political leanings, having him gain relevance now when the paradigm is “how could we end up with such a dinosaur at the helm?” is almost impossible, even though he is by all means more sentient than both Biden and Trump. Still, I think it would be good.
There’s no need to do a second term. Just fill the gap now to win and push for more progressive policies. This set up the next generation to take over in '28.
Yeah, but the incumbant historically has had an advantage. If Bernie only served one term, the next Democratic nominee after him wouldn’t have the advantage that someone willing and capable of serving two terms would. And that would risk a Republican win in 2028.
Please no. He’s older than Biden.
Don’t get me wrong. His policy decisions would be amazing. But there’s no way he’d be able to do a second term in 4 more years.
The fuckup that Biden made wasn’t running in 2024. It was running in 2020. And Sanders winning a first term this November would be much worse.
Maybe Bernie should get a cabinet position.
Now this I can get behind
