The film’s score was composed by Joe Strummer, former member of the punk rock band the Clash; the film’s soundtrack contains a number of popular and alternative punk rock, skaand new wave songs.
Members of Devo, Oingo Boingo, and Nine Inch Nails have each gotten into making soundtracks as well.
The Bourne Identity fight choreographer also based his fights on the fights in the movie.
If you’ve ever seen both movies it’s very obvious.
This movie came out in an era of shooting from the hip action stars, and John Cusack and his Kickboxing Instructor put down one of the best movie fights ever.
Also Dan Akroyd’s “POPCORN!” will never make me not laugh.
Strummer also did a fucking AMAZING arrangement of an Irish political hymn from the early 1800s (or possibly earlier for the tune) for Black Hawk Down.
Such a great film!
Great film and phenomenal soundtrack
Agreed! Gonna have to rewatch it soon and pay attention to the score too; not just the soundtrack…
