Looking for something I can use to wear to have audio from bluetooth that doesn’t get in the way as a side-sleeper
I have the wired version of these Hearprotek earbuds, and they are amazing. The earbud is so small it doesn’t reach past my ear, and they are some sort of soft silicon, so they dont bother my ears when sleeping on my side. I went through dozens of “sleep earbuds” until I found these. https://a.co/d/0a7kYUM
Manta Sound mask
God I want this. Added to list
Anker Soundcore are onto their second revision of sleep earbuds. They are really good.
I bought them recently and returned them after one night. The battery didn’t last even 2 hours and they kept disconnecting from my phone and turning off, but you can’t just turn them back on, you have to take them out of your ear and put them into the case to turn them back on. So many design flaws IMO.
That’s a shame. I’ve had no problems with any of the non-sleep Anker earbuds I’ve purchased.
That’s a setting you can change. It turns off after an hour by default, since the idea is you’re using them at bedtime. You can also reconnect them by double-tapping the left earbud. That’s what I do if I’m still awake.
I’m a side sleeper, and would use something like a Pillow Speaker if I wanted that: https://www.talkaboutsleep.com/best-pillow-speakers/
Actually dug up my old bluetooth portable i got at costco ages ago so will experiment with this first but i am very turned on to the idea of a pillow speaker typed dealio
I use a cheap Bluetooth eyemask from Amazon. It’s plenty comfortable.
On the second one from Musicozy. The first failed after 2 years of nightly use (a wire broke), but given the price I certainly am happy. Cheap, alrightish sound quality, battery lasts a few nights, and nothing stuck in your ears. Cannot go to sleep without now ((
I use Sennheiser HD450BT over the ear headphones. A little tricky but with a softer pillow side sleeping is fine. Can occasionally have issues with the ANC with some pillows.
Using Brownian noise from my phone.
I’ve got a pair of these that I like. They do the job as described. They’re not great at anything else but I like them for laying in bed.
Depending on how you sleep, you might just want to look into slim conductive headphones instead of overpriced sleep-specific ones
Check out bone conduction headphones.
The audio quality is not the best but it more than enough for podcasts or youtube content. They are much more comfortable for me as long as the volume is relatively low or else the vibration starts to become annoying. I would recommend trying them out if you can from a friend or order some expecting to return them because they aren’t for everyone but if you are like me you won’t want to use anything else.
Using Shokz myself, but for the intended use- sports. For the outdoor runs/cycling they are good. But for sleeping, they still press into your face when you sleep on the side.
is this a bot response or something? I fucking love my bone conduction headphones but theyre defintily not appropriate for side sleepers, hell I can’t even use a headrest comfortably while wearing them let alone lay down with them on
Well I use mine every night and sleep fine. I could also be a robot as you suggest too.
I backed it for my wife and while they have their quirks, she says they’re very comfortable and generally do the job well. Basically Bose used to make a Sleepbuds product then discontinued it. A good chunk of the product team left, bought the IP from Bose, and started this to continue the development and add lots of requested features.
Looks very cool, kinda hoping for more of a headband type thing but I’d definitely try something like this if I could
My wife got a sleep headband with Bluetooth from some random Chinese company on Amazon. So far she’s been pretty happy with it, though she’s mostly a back sleeper. She says when she sleeps on her side, sometimes the headphone part bothers her and sometimes it doesn’t. So YMMV. If you want the exact brand I can ask her, though I expect most of the brands are selling the same thing.
I actually perchance just dug up an old bluetooth portable flat speaker I got from Costco forever ago and its got great sound, can be portable/plugged in, and seems maneuverable so imma start experimenting with it. My cat loves the wooferinress of it which is interesting
I had a vibrating adjustable bed frame that I think my cats really liked because of the purr-like quality.
I’m surprised so many people wear earpods while sleeping. Do you not have alarms in the morning that you need to hear? Is there a reason you can’t have a white noise machine?
I think actual anything going on or in ear is probably a no for me. I’m trying a small portable/wired bluetooth speaker in a few places like in pillow, may try a headband but if speaker works, cat also likes it so thats a plus for it too lol
Oh, I get it. I misunderstood you at first. I thought you were looking for earbuds.
I got some $8 sleep buds from Aliexpeees that have done well. I’ve also done the headband ones, but you can just put that in in Amazon and find a plethora of them. I’ve also see people use pillow speakers and put them inside the pillow case, but you’ll need to still have your audio jack for that.
The original AirPods 1 (non pro) do the trick for me
Those are murder for me now, gotta jack up the volume and I find them less comfortable than the Pros. I’ve been spoiled by Pro’s sound cancelling
I put my phone under my pillow.
Well now I’ve upgraded it with two tiny speakers from AliExpress so my phone is not overheating while charging
Sleep Bluetooth sleeping audio wearable?? What…
