He couldn’t run his own campaign, and had to drop out. Give the guy a break. He’s old, and has served his country more than 99.9% of Americans.

Served a genocide, war, and the racialized police state more than 99.999% of Americans.

You do not, in fact, have to hand it to him.

Yeah, so? Name a Republican president who did a better job. Because I’ll take sleepy joe over George W. Bush any day.

Also we’re talking about politicians and presidents here. We don’t have kings here in the US, a president is only a piece of an administration. Even if Trump wins and they make president a more dictatorial role, he’ll still only be a puppet to other powerful people.

I’m genuinely not sure what people want out of politics? Like do you want some sort of god king to come down from their city on a hill and to fix everything to be perfectly moral? Politics is messy and full of compromise. It sucks, but in the grand scheme of things a president can only steer the trajectory of the country a little bit.

“But I think Republicans are worse” is a thought terminating cliché that allowed you to completely forget that I replied to someone commending Genocide Joe like he’s a good guy.

Yeah, I don’t get OP’s point. OP pissed themself trying to get Biden out and now that Biden is out, they want him back in? What?

Pointing out a failed promise doesn’t necessarily imply you wanted them to follow through with it. For example, noting that Trump failed to get Mexico to pay for his wall doesn’t mean I actually wanted him to succeed.

Well I don’t know if that’s OPs point as much as the author of the article’s point but yeah.

See their comment in the other place they posted the link. Something along the lines of “I thought democracy was on the line?”

Wtf is this abc? Who cares? He’s the president, why should he be campaigning if he’s not running?

I kind of hate campaigning in general to be honest, politicians should not be celebrities. We should get mailed their name and where they stand on issues and some fact checking on those things.

As well as their track record, some references and a cover letter. If I need a good resume to get hired, so do they!

The man couldn’t even focus his energies on one single debate. There’s no way he could do a lengthy campaign that involves travel and focusing for hours and days and weeks on end. He knows that, we all know that, and it doesn’t affect anything in a bad way.

If he can hold it together and make okay decisions for the next few months, and then retire, everyone will be happy.

It does impact voters in that Biden waited until the 11th hour to realize he’s way too old, so then NO alternatives could even be considered.

I think that’s on purpose. He is old and don’t want his unpopularity to drag down an otherwise perfectly run campaign

Because he’s working, like a president should. Unlike our previous golfer-in-chief.
