The ethics pledge was introduced by Republicans and signed into law by Trump himself in March 2020. Rules for thee but not for me…

Not like it fucking matters, anyway. None of this “law” shit matters unless we find a way to impose it upon the swine who mean to rule us.

I think Trump knows that he’ll almost always score points with voters by offending and upsetting those opposed to him, regardless of their party. So many of those who voted for him cited his unwillingness to conform as a major draw.

Most of them are just angry with the status quo and by upsetting establishment people Trump misleads the electorate into thinking he’s not of and from the establishment. He’s convinced so many that he’s a force for change when in reality he’s a force for entrenching and empowering the worst aspects of the system.

A source familiar with the process acknowledged that details are still being worked out with the Biden administration regarding the ethics agreement, which is required by law under the Presidential Transition Act and which applies to all members of the transition team. Updates to that bill requiring the ethics pledge were introduced by Trump ally Sen. Ron Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican, and signed into law by Trump himself in March 2020.

It’s required to start getting security briefings before becoming president. A requirement to become president would be in the constitution, not a law.

What is the law that says he is required to do so? What happens, if he doesn’t? Nothing? What a shit show.

Imagine you start a new job, where all the old crew just quit yesterday. Except that job is running the federal government of a major power.

The agreements are prerequisite for transition preparations, in order to get his team security clearances, classified information, advance access to office space and agencies so that, come the official transition of power, they’re actually ready to drop right into business instead of losing time getting up to speed with what’s happening.

The world doesn’t stop and wait for the US federal administration to slam to a halt, pick itself up and get moving again. These agreements are supposed to prevent that.

Stop posting stupid crap about Trump. Nobody cares. He will sign it or he won’t, because there’s no consequences.
