Wow, what the actual fuck? How did they go from being a well respected and reputable case manufacturer, to this?!

This happens with every corporation after a while. Make a good product -> Get liked / recommended by the community -> Get big -> Get Greedy -> Make products shitty to maximize profit Also often add a ‘Get big’ can also be ‘Get bought’, product quality typically drops off of even more of a cliff if that happens. Another big indicator of a company that’s about to go to shit would be if they get onto the Stock Market, as once you’re in there, making sure that next quarterly profits are higher than the previous one becomes top priority above all else. Anything that takes profits without giving them more money will be dropped.

i mean, in the video they make it pretty clear that it’s because they were bought out by venture capital and taken public.

Been avoiding nzxt for years after I bought an H1 and it was a heaping pile of shit. PSU, AIO, and the included riser all failed within about a year of use. They sent my a replacement AIO with no fans and no mounting hardware (I missed that the bracket was still on, they did warn to take any accessories off but the fan was zip tied from the factory). Same with the PSU which they sent with no cables, which was visibly a different model than what I had cables for before, after arguing for a month to try and get them to send me anything. Didn’t even bother with the riser, moved to a different case and just advised my friends against buying from them

I bought one of their AIOs for my first build and aftering unpacking it I saw that several of the fins was bent so I after trying to get an RMA they told me they couldn’t do anything about it??? I didn’t know any better so I just used it but it kept making infuriating ticking sounds so I tried swapping the fans and reorienting my tower cause I wasn’t sure if some bubble were trapped but it didn’t fix it.

At this point I said fuck it, I’ll send another RMA request and go through with it this time and I had to argue with them for a week to tell them that this isn’t normal. But even after they sent me a replacement I had to pay fucking duty fees and the replacement still had the same fucking problem. I just bought a corsair AIO cause I didn’t want to deal with their shitty service and products again. So I’m not surprised their products had issues like the self-immolating riser cable and this bullshit.

I only ever bought a H440 case from them.
It was a popular and well reviewed at the time.
The design itself is fine, probably better than most back then, but I also had to retap several threads because the screws would bind.

I realize it’s anecdotal, but idk if I’d buy from them again.
Building the whole PC, realizing it needs tapping, disassembling everything, tapping, cleaning metal shards, reassembling again was certainly more of a hassle than I care for.

For newcomers: NZXT is a hardware manufacturer in the USA most known for its computer cases, but also sells motherboards, power supplies, cooling products, LED lighting, and other accessories marketed towards PC gamers. Their design and development is in L.A. but the manufacturing facilities are in China.

    .

The youtube user “Gamers Nexus” is encouraging people not to buy from NZXT, and explains why in the link above.

If you are an NZXT customer that was sold a product and/or service under their:

    Frames Per Second Guarantee

it is highly recommended that you submit a claim as NZXT fails to be compliant with their own terms.

“If they don’t honor it, they’d be violating their own terms which could potentially result in a strong civil action.”

Here’s a short list of NZXT’s scummy and potentially illegal behavior:

    • overcharging customers
    • swapping parts to the detriment of their customers
    • silently price jacking during an existing rental without informing the customer beforehand
    • preventing customers from cancelling subscriptions by redirecting customers to a 404 page
    • silently increasing subscription prices after offering an implied free monitor, keyboard, and mouse

        • stating that they own any data on the PCs and can use it (sell it) if they wish.

        • Having fake performance numbers on their website
