      The problem with that phrase is that the “again” started happening as soon as the war ended (actually, even before it ended, Stalin was doing his best to kill off indigenous groups in the USSR and continued after it ended). And never stopped.

    Of course they are. „the worst“ are usually hard to catch, unless they already are in prison. Whereas normal people have regular places to be, school or work, where they can be caught easily.

    Also, technically, there will always be „the worst“, just as there will always be „the best“ migrant.

      Yep it’s pretty repulsive that any country would treat people like this. Whether it’s the United States Russia or China etc etc. People would do well to learn that this is what happens when you have wealthy unaccountable oligarchs or Vanguard in charge. You aren’t the victim until you are and then it’s too late.

    Some were probably in the U.S. legally. Some are probably citizens who were caught speaking Spanish and being brown in public. And if that isn’t true yet, it almost certainly will be soon.

    First “Violent” undocumented immigrants.

    Then “Non-Violent” undocumented immigrants.

    Then trans people?

    Then documented but deemed undesirable immigrants?

    Maybe citizens who have done the worst possible crimes?

    Citizens who disagree too loudly with Trump or Musk?

    When do you suppose they’ll build the next camp?

    When do you suppose they’ll get to “the gays” or “the blacks?”

    When will they get to your neighbor? Or to you?

    When will it finally be enough for those who voted to put him in power? Ever?
