…and that’s why you support decent indie developers and pirate this trash
Just don’t play it
Since you know, it’s trash
Play that years down the line. The first one was OK but I paid like $15 for it with the expansion. Obsidian hasn’t had a clear jump in quality since the MS purchase. Possibly even signs of writing regression with Avowed so can’t imagine much hype for this game
Grounded is fun, and 2 is right around the corner, though they did (and plan similarly for 2) to release it in phases in early access and gather community feedback at every step
Of course you can - if an adequate share of that money goes to the devs, the only issue is the money that doesn’t go to the devs. And they very likely don’t have much control over that money
Capitalism deals with industry being owned privately.
If you want to complain about Microsoft being a publicly-traded, private-sector company rather than a worker cooperative or part of the government or whatever, okay, at least I can see where you’re coming from.
But a socialist economy is perfectly compatible with having high prices.
Well, for starters, games are going to get more expensive.
That is their prerogative. Mine is not buying overpriced games.
That’s always been the case. They can charge whatever they like, I’ll only buy if I think the price is worth it.
“Capitalism is when pay money for things. I am very smart.”
Jesus Christ, I am begging people to actually learn what capitalism is before writing takes likes this.
These days its increasingly ‘capitalism is when you pay money for the chance to have a thing’
I mean, that’s literally what it is?
Chance as in gambling, so often you don’t even get what you pay for even with ‘reputable’ brands. This is particularly bad with appliances.

If this game is as good as it looks Bethesda has to really step it up on Fallout 5 or big daddy Microsoft might give the IP back to its creators.
The Outer Worlds 1 was a fantastic palate cleanser after Starfield.
this handful of uncooked milled oats was a fantastic palate cleanser after half a kilo of shit
Nah, I loved The Outer Worlds. It gave me exactly what I wanted from the setting, it made me laugh, and it wasn’t bogged down in bloat by trying to be any bigger than it ought to have been.

It’s quite nice, actually. Not all work on a game is equally worthwhile. Lots of my favorite franchises have devolved into games that grew larger to their own detriment. It doesn’t often happen that one of these types of games scales back down. And it’s not like there are zero big games that I like; Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3 are both 100+ hour games that are some of my favorites of all time! But unlike a lot of big games, they actually felt like there was something interesting to see for that full runtime, whereas a lot of big games actively harm their pacing by filling it with uninteresting bloat.

Hard disagree. I like Fallout 4 quite a bit, but I don’t think there’s any part of it I liked better than The Outer Worlds.
Not sure how the first game was a snorefest - I genuinely had more fun in Starfield.
Yeah I have to disagree, the first game was lifeless and dull imo
I personally loved it. I finished it quicker than most games I’ve played the last few years. I was actually surprised. It’s not a long game by any means, but still.
I didn’t love that it started a bit more radical and became more lib over time, but I still enjoyed the writing and gameplay quite a bit. It’s silly fun, and it’s not pretending not to be. It does have a message, but it’s not overtly drab or serious.
I guess the author learned that being anti-capitalist is somewhat trendy and couldn’t resist writing this opus. But this has nothing to do with the game or games in general.
$80? No problem! 🏴☠️
Oh, it just modern Obsidian, no one is going to buy it anyway.
Came and went.
I came!

Microsoft doesn’t expect anyone to pay $80. They expect people to sub to Game Pass instead.
That’s even worse.

They aren’t gonna charge me shit because the first one was so dull I only got halfway through it.

So don’t buy it.
ITT: gamers are basically forced to buy this game.
Lol, the cognitive dissonance of whining about capitalism because their vidya game got a little more expensive. Not only is the entitlement and hypocrisy off the charts, there are so many ways to play games for cheap and/or free, the criticism is entirely moot. Don’t like the price a company is asking for for an entirely optional commodity? Don’t fucking pay it. It’s not that hard.

And I’ll voice mine.
Don’t like the price a company is asking for for an entirely optional commodity? Don’t fucking pay it. It’s not that hard.
Don’t like the discussion a community is having for an entirely opinionated topic? Don’t fucking comment. It’s not that hard.
Nah, I think I will.
That’s fine. But then don’t pretend you have an issue with entitlement or hypocracy.
Mine is neither, but go off.
