A friend and neighbor of ours has been volunteering for a local food pantry for the past 20 years or so, and she is constantly giving away food that goes unused. She routinely asks us to come and grab chicken, fish, grapes, potatoes, onions, carrots, broccoli, etc just so she doesn’t have to chuck it because they have policies that they can’t hold on to it for more than x amount of days.
