Whenever liberals would negatively compare Trump to John McCain because McCain actually went to Vietnam I always wanted to puke a lil. Furthermore McCain wasn’t even drafted, he volunteered to fight in Vietnam which makes him more evil than I can possibly describe. Trump draft dodging was a correct decision.
The main reason I don’t regret voting for Obama in 08 as my first presidential election was never because I naively loved Obama, it’s because I always fucking hated John McCain

I remember when McCain said during the presidential debate he wanted to nuke Iran. Immediately made me (unfortunately) vote for Obama because I didn’t want him anywhere near the White House.
As I understood it, it used to be something of a given that to be a successful politician you had to have done military service. Obviously not a defense of character but I think that’s why so many of them did that
