😢Illusion of facades: residents of Mariupol cannot live in their own apartments after “renovations” by the occupiers

😠The occupiers make facades of buildings, and behind the screen - unlivable apartments. One of them was filmed by a Mariupol woman who visited her home after “repair work”.

☝️Instead of a renovated apartment, she saw an uninhabitable place. No floor, no walls, no ceiling. The occupiers only installed windows and pipes. The owner does not know what to do next. After all, the invaders have completed the “work”.

Dozens of buildings received such “restoration”. From the outside, they look like new, but inside they are semi-dilapidated apartments.

I am also wondering this. It almost looks like they kicked the residence out and made it into a temporary facility of some kind.

It looks more like they stole everything that could be removed. Even the floor tiles! Takes dedication to do that

You know that it was recently an active warzone and blasted to shit right? This is Russia’s attempt to fix up the destruction so people can live there again. Context is given in the op post…

Oh, for sure. They’ve also done a piss poor job at rectifying it. My point is that this isn’t the Russians stealing shit as the other two commenters seemed to think it was for some reason. They didn’t have to kick anyone out, the place had already been evacuated and then fucked up by the war. They likely think this saves face in some way (and let’s be honest, to some people it probably does save face. Even Russia has supporters these days). Anyway, yeah, we don’t need to make shit up to make the world seem like a hellhole, reality does just fine at illustrating that already.

The occupiers only installed windows and pipes.

You can hardly expect them to install toilets when all the Ukrainian toilets are needed in Russia. /s

Serious question: what’s with the lines of nails sticking out of some of the walls?

I think it’s a steel wire grid thing. Some sort of reinforcement embedded in the mortar. Why it’s there? No idea
