Meta will not launch its new Twitter rival, Threads, in Ireland or the EU for the foreseeable future. It is being released in the US and the UK on Thursday of this week as an alternative to Twitter.
I’m really happy about EU having RGPD, Twitter is not the best (even more with Musk) but Meta is like, evil.
And nothing of value was lost.
Did nobody here read the article? This is sensationalized as hell lol. They aren’t blocking the app, it just hasn’t gone through GDPR approval. They rushed the launch to beat Twitter to a usable product, but it will definitely be released in the EU after they figure all that out.
Just to say that I didn’t edit anything to sensationalise it, the headline is the title.
