That’s what I had to do. My first main base is set up close to the foot of the hill where you first spawn. I had no idea that the radius was a thing until after. And I didn’t look up what happens if I dismantle until well after I had established myself in that area.
I started a second base just west of that Chillet boss because across the rope bridge from there, there’s a relatively safe plateau with 7 ore nodes right next to each other. I can easily get 650-ish more from just those nodes.
I went back and built up (literally) my main base by adding an entire wall/platform off the lower edge, so I gave myself extra ledge space to put all my production stations and such. I still have a good chunk of my build area in a small lake though…

That wall platform idea is great. It might just save me from scrapping the whole base. Thanks!
