Unfortunately, it was then sabotaged by the government after an election changed the majority party.
It seems to be back on track after wasting an extraordinary amount of time and money by installing copper lines, just to completely replace them with the fiber lines that were in the original plan.
I miss the comfort of having a single OS (not multiple distros to choose from), and a father who would reinstall the OS when I broke it too much again.
I miss the Macromedia Flash games, bringing games to school on a floppy disk labeled “homework” (then discovering I’d only brought the shortcut).
All of this is just nostalgia, and while I miss it, I’m happier now with my Linux Distro.
I’ve customised the desktop environment, broken the OS and reinstalled it myself (several times), and copied games to another device while forgetting to copy the folder containing my save files.
I guess some things stay the same.

I just tried to send a package to another country (also not America) and the entire process has been made far more complicated because his tariffs exist. I can see the politicians in my country trying to follow his lead and destroy this country too. I hear about the holocaust level of kidnapping on the news, and watch people trying to fight back on social media.
America is on the front stage of the world, for all the wrong reasons. Most of the world is aware of America, and really does care about it’s politics.
This just sounds like another excuse for a “preemptive strike”. Why would Iran attack a state that is generally opposed to war?
The government lies. We’ve seen them lie. We’ve seen so many cases of the CIA lying. Why would I believe the FBI about this.

After replacing the default launcher with Lawnchair, I’m pretty happy with it. The physical switch (remapped to control the torch) is a nice touch.

Yes, microG is on /e/OS by default. I believe my bank uses some of the security features from Play Services that aren’t in microG.
I’m not 100% sure that it can’t be fixed, but it’s such a minor nuisance that I don’t think it’s worth my time to investigate.

My bank app will install, but I can’t login unless I also install Google Play Services. The website works fine without.
No issues with other apps. I do prioritise installing from F-Droid whenever possible.

No, it isn’t usually apparent. Most bugs from AI are subtle edge cases that will only show up later. One of those “later” instances night be when you try to run it on a different computer, or when another user presses buttons in an order you didn’t try, or when you try to add a new feature, or worse, when someone tries to hack your code and finds all the common security vulnerabilities because that’s what the AI has seen most often and copied.
AI can’t think – it can only give results it has seen before or some combination of them. We already know AI can’t produce an image of a full glass of wine, or tell you what year is next year on Jan 1st.
The technology can’t work. No matter the input prompt, it just isn’t capable of producing code with no bugs or edge cases. That requires thinking and logical deductions, both disproven by the examples in the previous paragraph.
I tried it recently, it still doesn’t work.
You will get more logic errors than you could possibly imagine. Even when you’ve fixed the obvious errors and it seems to run, you still have an enormous number of edge cases not handled that make your project a buggy, insecure mess.
It’s the Dunning–Kruger effect again. If you can’t do it yourself, you don’t notice that AI can’t do it either.

If you have that much money and invest randomly, you have a good chance of making more. You also didn’t hear about all the people who tried the same and failed, so there is some amount of selection/survivorship bias.

That’s correct. It’s an example of why assuming that “correlation = causation” can lead to some bad decisions.
Drinking wine and living longer are correlated, but it is not likely that one causes the other. It is more likely that there is something else (such as disposable income) that causes both.
In a similar way, ice-cream sales and drownings peak at the same time every year. The ice-cream is not causing people to drown, and neither are drowning people buying a significant amount of ice-cream. Both can be attributed to the higher temperatures of summer.
I hate that my first though was “at least he survived the encounter”.
