I also just found out that Under The Milky Way was co-written by Steve Kilbey and his partner at the time, whose band I linked to in the post. Not a bad earner, I would imagine!

You’re welcome! Thanks for the response.
Try the jangle pop My Bloody Valentine? This album was a compilation of music that came out before their first Creation Records album.
Ecstasy and Wine (1989) - Yewtube or Youtube
My picks from Loveless would be Only Shallow, When You Sleep, Come In Alone but basically most of the album.
They can’t be everyone’s cup of tea, so it’s fine if you don’t get into them. I’m the same with a lot of bands. I came to MBV at a formative time in my life and they were pretty much the first “famous” band that I ever saw live, but even now, I can’t say that I listen to them all the time.
In case you’re interested in that vinyl re-issue. I had it on cassette and possible, later on CD, but never on wax.
Found an English language interview with the band, and have been listening to their Bandcamp. It’s nice.
Uncanny. I listened to Brubeck a few hours ago.
Just giving a listen to the Obey Robots album that came out last month year, and it’s really good. Edit: the other half od Obey Robots is Gareth “Rat” Pring from Ned’s Atomic Dustbin.
Those four properties – Trump International Hotel in Washington, Trump Tower and Trump World Tower in New York, and Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas – represented less than 1% of the 558 corporate entities Trump owned either directly or indirectly while president, the report said.
I used to know a man who was huge fan of Queen but also massively homophobic. When I called him out on it, “Um, Freddie was very gay”, he quickly replied, “Oh, that’s different”. 🤔
You’re most welcome. Back in the late 90’s I stumbled across some mp3s of El Vez and as mentioned, I always play his version of Feliz Navidad at least once in December!
90% of my week (at least it felt like it) was focussed on Alvvays. I count myself as very lucky to see them on consecutive nights, during the week, and both gigs were soooooooo good. I saw them 4 years ago and have really liked them for a while before that…but now I really love them. They probably top my personal chart right now and will do for a while, I think. Seeing this NPR set capped off a great week of fandom!
It’s almost the perfect site for a music festival and impeccably organised. The single thing I dislike about it is that there isn’t an area that has car-free camping. I always take the bus there and it would be so much better not to have all the motor vehicles mixed in with the tents.
You’re most welcome.
I just caught up with this band. This really is some track. Builds into a great crescendo. they are coming to Australia in March, I shall have to try and see them play.
I didn’t pay a lot of attention to Spirea X, so I don’t exactly know the answer to your question. Judith is credited on Discogs as on vocals only and in a MVs you can find on the internet, she doesn’t see to be pictured as playing an instrument. I did spot a glimpse of her playing an acoustic guitar in some gig footage, when I went look for it, just now.
The fun fact here, is that Cash Savage’s uncle was Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds keyboard player, Conway Savage.
People don’t generally seem to add a description about the band and or/song, to give me a reason to dive in. That means, I often don’t always click to listen. In this case, the band name did enough to pique my interest!
