Hey speak for yourself, I was forced into French immersion school by my parents with promises of good government jobs. Now I can understand French but Quebecois is a whole different beast 😂

As far as I’ve read, that price is for both no ads and Ultra which I guess gives you more perks). For just no ads it is significantly less. For no ads in my version it’s $30CAD, which is a high price but is much much less than $100+CAD
This is how my mom texts, and it’s always a fun game trying to figure out what she’s trying to say
The Princess Bride, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Both have so many great lines they still crack me up every time!
That’s interesting, I know the one I have now can go between the two and is just defaulted to F, but growing up the one in my childhood home only showed F. I never really understood the numbers in relation to the temp either, I just would notch it up or down a few degrees depending on how cold I was 😂
So here (and maybe it’s just my family?) I’ve always seen the home thermostat set in F, while the weather outside is strictly C. So like my house is set at 70f but if I were talking about outside I’d use C. Which is funny because the thermostat in F also means nothing to me, I just notch it up or down a few degrees depending on how cold I am in the winter 😂😅
Ontario checking in, 100% accurate. Actually I would add home temperature (like the thermostat) under F, but body temperature (like checking if you have a fever) under C. Also we’re so used Americans using miles for distance/speed we’ll sometimes use it in idioms ("They ran out of here at 100 miles per hour!”). I never realized this change between measuring systems wasn’t the norm until I started chatting with Europeans.
Yeah I’ve had YouTube premium for a long time, and I don’t mind paying for it, but the fact half the people I follow are getting copyright claimed (unfairly) or taken down is really a huge bummer. It’s been hitting the true crime & film review communities particularly hard. I’m hoping more of my fave creators start using Odyssee or rumble because I don’t really like supporting a platform who treats their creators like shit.
It’s even worse with The Sims. I remember when I was in highschool, and an avid sims 2/3 player, I found this mod that would remove the pixels from the sims when they’re naked. Of course the sims by default had no genitals, and being a hormonal teenager I also downloaded a mod that would fix that issue.
Because of how modded content for the sims is, a lot of the times the download sites are just link aggregators, so to download a mod you’d be sent to a different site that actually hosted the file. Downloading the naked mod led me down a rabbit hole to a site called sexysims3.com (or something like that) that had just… Every type of sex/porn mods you could think of.
From giant dongs to incest, it was all there.
I was pretty horrified and noped out of there pretty quick, and cleared the browser history because it was a shared family computer.
When you bring her to the vet do they address you as “Bringer of the Apocalypse”?
Very sweet coke, if I recall. I haven’t had any faygo in a while since graduating from uni in an area that actually stocked Faygo.
It’s because they’re bringing back r/place
Clearly they’re saying you should hop in a hot air balloon and travel around the world spotting breaking news with your own eyes.
Oh wow that’s awesome! Thanks 🙂
A bunch of morbid and medical subs like morbid curiosity, medizzy, medicalgore, thegrittypast. I always have found those subs super interesting and filled with discussion about stuff I don’t usually encounter in my day to day life so I’ve been missing that.
The designer saw the colour chartreuse one day and thought “yes.”
I would love a scientific breakdown of what it would be like to experience this. Like would gravity being fucked up cause everything and everyone to be yeeted off the planet? Would the heat from the exposed molten center cook everything first? It’s all terrifying.
Something to keep in mind with studies are outside social factors such as less women playing chess and less women being exposed to chess at a young age. There are fewer women in chess and fewer girls learning chess, for probably centuries. This will have a factor when comparing two demographics.
