I thought it was a little funny?
I mean I couldn’t really tell you whether kimchi is expired, covid or no.
Have you tried wearing an n95 mask while doing anything more strenuous than walking? I have no health issues at all and I can find it difficult to breathe. I don’t think obligating (legally or socially) people to wear n95 masks is realistic. Unfortunately, just like many socially charged issues in 2023 it just takes some common sense. I’m not implying you’re lacking, just my .02.
I repeat this to everyone I can. Obviously there is some personal benefit to wearing a mask but unless you’re being insanely careful about what you touch ALL the time it’s just not gonna do a whole lot. On the other hand if you’re hacking and spewing all over the place and you absolutely have to be out in public please, for the love of fucking God put politics aside and keep your bodily fluids to yourself.
So wait, you’re saying that anything created or developed using opens source software should be given away for free?
I guess the first time wasn’t enough hahaha
Slackware was my first distro more 25 years ago! Good times.
I wouldn’t say this is my favorite movie but I love it and have watched it multiple times. It has its flaws and it wasn’t very well received critically but I still think about it all the time and rewatch it every couple of years. Watching the movie got me reading the book which is also great.
Y’all is where it’s at.
Yeah, just reading ‘Yast’ triggered me
I think he just meant the self loathing part?
I remember going to RadioShack as a kid too and they had a Tandy computer setup. It was magical for 8 year old me. I think they even did repairs back then because that electrical soldering smell is seared in my memory.
I’ve been using Linux for almost 30 years and I still don’t use it as my desktop. There are just too many little things that don’t work or are a hassle day to day. It’s great for messing around but unless you’re spending all of your time in a web browser or a command line, it’s just not worth it when I have real work to do. It’s been about 5 years since I tried a desktop version so maybe it warrants another look. But, I doubt it. Desktop is just not a priority for open source.
On the other hand, when it comes to servers Linux is always my number 1 choice. I run several relatively high demand services with up times measured in months and sometimes years.
We call these ‘papagei’ in swiss german which is German for parrot. We also used to paint them with water colors
I think so too. I used reddit up until rif stopped working about a week ago (for me at least). Ive always been a reluctant participant in social media largely because of how consolidated everything is. Which, at the end of the day just means we’re easier to market to or monetize. I’m excited about the possibilities of lemmy in a way I’ve never been about social media before. The content is currently a little sparse; you have to go looking a little, but that’ll improve quickly I’m betting. There’s no shortage of content to be had. In a small way it feels like the Internet 25 years ago
Hail for the first time I can remember in NW ga.
Me too! It also included several other similar fates for children that misbehaved!
I subscribe to the economist. It’s definitely pro capitalist, pro globalist but Ive never found it not to be credible.
