Starting to feel like AI is reaching too big to fail levels and we’ll never see a bubble burst
I think your last paragraph gets at what I’ve thought about AI from the beginning. If it does progress to the extent which you’ve described, we will have just created “us” on steroids. I truly don’t think a system such is this will lead us to any groundbreaking discoveries about our existence/how we came to be simply because of the contradiction in question. I think we’re just in a loop at that point, and it may just be another exercise in creating meaning in an utterly meaningless universe (reinventing religion).
The current limitation of AI is that it can not self train or incorporate data into it’s training in real time
Do you think compute is the biggest roadblock here? It seems like we just keep inundating these systems with more power, and it’s hard for me to see moore’s law not peaking in the near future. I’m not an expert in the slightest though, I just find this stuff fascinating (and sometimes horrifying).
So cooked lol
Everyone is just watching the systemic dismantlement of the arts in real-time and doing jack shit to stop it. Don’t think it’s a hot take to say that this just further pushes STEM everything
