I felt thing after stopping at season 2 and hearing about it after s4 started. I decided to catch up. I enjoyed it over all, but still felt it was too slow. Out of any “slow burn” character-driven shows show I at least moderately enjoyed it by the end? I’ll forever rue watching all of Mad Men.
Similarly, I will never go back to finish The Wire, The Americans, or Homeland after this.

When it was around $4/gallon recently I told people to just fuck right off, since I was making at least 3x what I was 18/20 years ago. Still a bit ass since “18/20 years ago” makes me a mid-age adult now. Got them bigger bills. At least gas prices have slowed down.
And republican states who turned down federal funding towards the ACA claimed that the options were so expensive because the ACA was just that bad. Will “states’ rights” ever not be used in cowardice for major talking points?

Appreciate it 🤙🏻 I remember right-wing people in USA Air Traffic Control would bring up Canada’s ATC system and workers, and I would just always bring up retirement/benefits for the differences in pay and how we paid for them anyway - and less efficiently. Plus I’m quite certain their guaranteed workers’ protections were better than what we got from the union directly (not USA union bashing at all - just strictly the bennies in comparison).
Even if you build the infrastructure, there will still be Tariffs on the raw materials. The production stateside wouldn’t be significant enough to offset that in any way with how things have been built the past 30+ years. Anecdotally, I know some folks who work under the UAW. Before/after a recent round of significant layoffs because of these big, beautiful tariffs, even the union leadership was spouting off how manufacturing would return to the US within years and it would be “worth it.” Some of the workers who already didn’t want to jump in bed with Trump ate it up. You would think at least leadership in a massive union overseeing any manufacturing/production would at least understand how this was a bad move for their whole organization, but here we are.

I’m pretty much on the same page. The reporting has been oddly sub-par and absolutely has barely touched on privacy concerns. The handful of things I read and heard only focused on the kids claiming that losing the sites will tear away their social lives? I get it. Also, “quickly” in US can be 8+ months before you even get a basic assessment by a specialist. Things get worse? Might as well go straight to the ER. Urgent “Cares” were a band-aid for general/family practice groups not having space for sick visits. Word is a regional network now won’t even be doing stitches at urgent care. ER required.
After I looked at everything else the problem with our dishwasher was a malfunctioning motherboard that could “only” be replaced by a certified professional. I at least fixed our dryer once and our vacuums as needed, so I got that at least.
