  • For me personally, until a month ago I had no idea why people would prefer to watch at faster speed.

Then I was assigned 10 hours of training at work, and it was all the worst fucking videos you’ve ever seen, no editing for clarity or brevity, points being repeated ad nausea. Repeating footage. And it’s not like I could skip vast portions of it, I never knew when a little piece of key information would be snuck in which was in the knowledge test.

Finally said to myself fuck this and I put it on 2x. I found it kind of life-changing in that moment and I’m going to consider using faster watch speeds from now on.

  • I saw a commercial in the 70’s for Starburst. All of them were the same pattern: Person pops candy into their mouth, next scene is them taking off hang-gliding.

I thought if I ate a Starburst I’d get sent flying off a mountain like the hang gliders. Not in a fun way… eat this candy and you’re getting flung to your death off the top of a mountain. (I didn’t understand what a hang glider was either)

  • The influx of new users in the last 4 months has shown me there needs to be some disincentive for posting the same regurgitated sentiment-based shit that you see every time you log in. Regurgitated sentiments and memes represent 95% of the content… yes AI bad… Israel bad… Cheese powder face man bad… I feel depressed… I can’t afford a house… robots took my job. How many times can we as a community re-state what we already know to be true.

This is Reddit 2.0 let’s not kid ourselves.
