“War crimes” are infractions against International Humanitarian Law, most notably, and infractions against a package of pther laws commonly grouped as “International Law of Armed Conflict”

The letter is demanding sanctions in response to violations of International Law. That is a totally different level of laws which, in the context of the current conflict, America and Israel and breaking equally.

I also highly doubt that America is committing fewer violations of IHL than Israel, but I’ve got a middling confidence interval on that.

That’s fair, I know here is a big (and growing) tech sector; but i know little of the salaries. Let alone enough to do a PPP between the salaries in various locations.

I CAN say for a fact that the PPC and white nationalist aren’t Canadian.

Not just that you know the system is broken, but that you know it at every turn. When you open a retail app, apply for a job, or wait for an automated decision that no one can explain.

We also know what the solution is. We’ve always known. You know it in your heart right now. The solution is localisation and community building. But that comes with comfort costs that we have decided are to much to bear. It comes with inequality between communities that we refuse to tax though land value instead of property value. It comes with risk sharing with others. It comes with comparing yourself, your family, your community, and your nation not to others; but to ourselves 1, 5, 10, 100 years ago.

I have no idea what you are referring too, but I only look at my subscribed communities, so I have no idea what’s going on in the “Lemmy meta.” Being able to only see the communities I subscribe too is one of my three primary reasons for coming here.

They also do standard/summer time, but they change at a different time of the year than North Americans!

Motorists are more likely to die in collisions, but cyclists and pedestrians are not; and by a nearly equal amount. So maybe take active or public transit for a week or two following the time change. It will help with reducing heart attacks too.

Where in a time zone do you lock the solar noon/nadir too? That’s a (usually) 30 to 60 minute variation depending on the size of the zone.

The entire reason standardixed time began to exists, was the extreme difficulty in time deferences between cities that could now be travelled between in short order by train (specifically Ozford and London, which were 5 minutes apart).

Any longitudinal travel would quickly change your time! Talk about scheduling nightmares. Late for a meeting in Toronto because you called from Ottawa. A 10 minute train ride is 9 minutes in one direction and 11 the other!
