Posting from independent media or sources other than corporate media. In the case of Al Jazeera and other Qatari funded outlets, I will select coverage of Palestine only.
I strive to give a different viewpoint as well as testimonies from the ground.
Housekeeping note: I only block if I see a reply from rightwing people looking for an argument. Other than that, I’m happy.

    @swordgeek

    It’s on the article / podcast I attach, unless you don’t get to see it on Lemmy?

    I only have 500 char to play with. I give a summary of the article / podcast, because most people don’t read them.
    I don’t like threads on Mastodon, twitter was better for threads

    Any suggestions other than the subject?

    @vega @palestine

    Yes, absolutely. And a really important point that people need to bear in mind is that even if Hamas were to agree to the “plan” verbatim, Israel will never ever stick to the deal. Not a chance in hell. Take the case of Lebanon, where the ceasefire was agreed back in December, and Hezbollah stuck to it, no violations. Israel has been violating it every day thousands of times.
    You can’t trust them.

    … much to Netanyahu’s glee.
    This is not diplomacy, but rather a mafia style warning.
    The PIJ (Palestinian Islamic Jihad) has apparently already rejected the deal.
    Netanyahu wants this deal to be rejected.
    The blame for the continued genocide will be placed on Hamas by the American and the compliant Western corporate media. Please stay away from it. So much on substack and YouTube.

    Been listening to other analysts too. The 20 points are obviously in Israel’s favour.
    The plan is not a real ceasefire proposal. It lacks many, many details, like what happens in case of violations, given that Israel has violated every single agreement ever.
    The plan is kept vague on purpose, so that Israel can do whatever the hell they like. In fact, Trump said if Hamas rejects the plan, Israel can “finish the job” with full US support

    Some thoughts on the future of warfare.
    Israel is a huge weapons, surveillance, propaganda, intelligence provider. They are the avantgarde.
    Future of warfare? Unmanned
    Who are the casualties? Civilians. They need to be displaced or will be killed.
    Where is the profit?
    Weapons, surveillance tools
    and
    Reconstruction. Real estate.
    Trump, Kushner, Witkoff, Tom Barrack. These guys are going to make tons of money
    What are your thoughts?

    Now several Western countries recognise a Palestinian state, because “such recognition is now relatively cost-free”. According to Starmer, it’s not a sovereign state, much less than that:
    • Elections in Palestine will need Israel’s permission
    • School curriculum approved by Israel
    • The PA will not compensate people Israel calls relatives of Hamas, no compensations to anybody
