Aww cmon Kasabian has a good album or two. I feel that about Coldplay’s first four albums. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say they fell off at a certain point and became just another group pumping out four chords and repetetive refrains over a dance beat. If anything my dislike for them is rooted in the fact that they used to be better.

My sister has BPD. My parents cut her off after some particularly spectacular episodes. I stuck up for her even after she wasn’t allowed around anymore. She tried to off herself in my room when I let her hide out from her boyfriend (not the first time she did that). She ended up moving in with that scumbag who on multiple occasions beat her senseless and threw her out of a moving vehicle. I had to come over (strapped mind you) and escort her from his place to the station onto a greyhound to go live with her cousin. I have so much fuckin trauma on account of her. She’s better now, for now. If it comes to it again tho I’ll always fight tooth and nail to keep her safe, regardless of how outrageously she behaves. That’s my fuckin sister.

Look you guys are valid. Every generation has pioneered slang that sticks. I get it. The problem in my estimation is that we are seeing kids come of age who were born, raised, and will die in a comment section or discord room. I have a sister in middle school in the house with me right now. The generations coming up have no clue how to behave offline. The ideas of real inflexible consequences and speaking seriously so you will be taken seriously are just completely nonexistent on their radar.
I mean, fair enough. But have you heard kids these days? Between the algorithmic feedback loop that is the modern internet, the disinterest of parents in actually parenting their kids, and chatgpt… I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be a bit concerned about how uneducated the children in our education system are coming off. It’s not me being classist, it’s valid criticism of a systemic failing.
Because schools are supposed to be raising up people who speak in a way that can be understood and indicates some intelligence.
