You’re acting like I said we shouldn’t protest or fight back while I’m literally just talking about the curfew. And I’m not even saying it’s 100% a good idea to have it in the first place, I’m just saying why I think it makes sense and how we can use it since ICE has been almost exclusively operating during the day to make it as obvious as possible. They have been and will continue to use our anger and fear against us and if we act on impulse we are doing exactly what they want us to do. These aren’t just random ICE raids in random communities, they are specifically targeted raids in blue states in specific communities in order to manufacture a crisis that they can “respond” to.

If anything, we need to protest more and resist more. We are way past the point where we should have a general strike. I’m just saying that if things get more violent on our side we are absolutely fucked.

And you’re not wrong, but they are going to be doing that during the day for maximum effect. The kidnapping is the kindling and the police and military are the ignition. It’s not an accident that they are doing this as cruelly as possible. It’s literally the point. They are purposefully pushing us to a breaking point by kidnapping people in broad daylight so they can crack down and make themselves the heroes of the story for their propaganda machine. It’s perfectly reasonable to be pissed off at everything they are doing, but if we don’t look at the bigger picture then they win.

I kinda agree but also kinda disagree with the whole curfew idea. On one hand Trump is trying to incite violence in LA right now and this could potentially make it more difficult by limiting the amount of people in the area. People like looters that are taking advantage of the situation tend to wait until the sun goes down. But on the other hand this could feel like an unnecessary crackdown in and of itself against the protestors and could make them more anxious.

Also, around 20 people being detained is not “mass arrests.” The article says that more than 500 people have already been arrested in recent days so this number almost seems low by comparison.

With him leaving the way he did literally nobody in the country likes this man and aiding with him in any way is political suicide.

If she didn’t have such a large online and social presence I’m sure nobody would have seen her again, or at least not for a couple years. Which is also the reason they wanted her out of there as soon as possible because she would have told it like it is everywhere she went.

I’m sure if it was up to the developers and creative minds behind the game this would have never been an issue. Sure, things like inflation have made the process of making games more expensive, but it’s not like the extra money is going to actually go back to the developers. I’m so sick of this “games are more expensive to make” bullshit while they treat their employees like garbage and make them work ungodly hours. Micro$oft makes more money in one day than most of us or any of the developers will ever see in our entire lifetimes yet they need to lecture us on why we need to give them more money.

To be clear, I hold no grudge against the actual developers of this game. The first one was pretty decent and I’m sure this next one will be relatively good as well. But remember that we are talking about the company that forced Arkane to make Redfall when they had no desire to make it, and after it failed fired everyone at Arkane Austin and closed the studio. This isn’t about making their money back to cover the cost of development, it’s about making as much profit as possible with the least amount of effort possible.

Like the guy or not, it’s about the precedent. If they arrest him for criticism they can arrest any politician they want for any reason. I don’t like Newsom either, but if he actually got arrested for this we are all fucked. Arresting people simply because you disagree with them is exactly what fascists do and advocating for it in any way is dangerous and only enables it further.

I don’t really care that much. If they are doing it to be insulting that’s just the type of person they are. If they do it because they are uninformed I can forgive and happily educate them on the fact that brains just work differently on a person to person basis.

In that situation specifically, seeing as your friend meant no harm, id probably just tell them “hey man, that’s not cool just so you know for future reference.” And just because feelings are hurt doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad thing. It just means that a line was unintentionally crossed because they didn’t know the line was there. Everyone has these lines and half of life is just figuring out where your lines are and where the lines of the people you care about are. If your friend had no bad intentions I’d say don’t take it personally. I know it can be hard sometimes, but just remember that they are your friend.

Because he spent the last 4 months balls deep in everything relating to the government and probably has access to all the information he could ever want to take him down. I fucking hate the guy, but it’s one of those “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” kinda situation.

It’s just like when he was going hard into supporting LGBTQ+ stuff. He doesn’t care about anything besides what people think of him. His beliefs have been all over the place ever since he entered the public eye and he has never been consistent. He just wants the majority on his side and will flipflop his own beliefs to achieve it.

The president vs the man who got him elected. Neither of them will win and are both human garbage. I’m just enjoying the show.
