In the quest for endless growth all publicly traded companies eventually have to cut costs, jack up prices, or both. The investors expect a return on their investment.
Lemmy doesn’t have that debt.

This is a bummer. I actually used Aurora to download my paid apps. I would buy on the website and login on my degoogled phone. Now degoogled users will have to just pirate apps they want. So much for supporting small developers.
What part of the experience sucks? I think it’s great.
That’s ultimately why I left the last time. That and the speed in which most instances load is terrible.
This has inspired me to start testing out Searx as my default again.
I was going to cancel my Max and Peacock account but my niece was still using it. I pay for Nebula, YouTube, and Spotify but I use them enough to feel that it’s worth it.
