Tile is also another option but not sure how their policies are but relatively cheaper option and uses other people apps like airtag depending on location of course using Bluetooth.
I figured it out and rerere-edited my post lmao hopefully it’s all right now.
Damn I copied and pasted it but I’m on Jerboa for Android so still learning everything I’ll try to remember to update later when I get on my desktop. Thanks for the update!
It’s installed automatically on my TV so I’ll use it from time to time if I want background noise and a certain genre of movie or show I want to have on.
I always used the guides from reddit[.]com/r/addons4kodi, but you can also Google troypoint and they have great guides for getting kodi up and running. After getting kodi up you can choose an addon, I went with Seren for the Netflix like feature of playing the next episode automatically without having to choose the next link. I also chose The Crew for the sports package they have so he could watch UFC fights without having to pay the PPV. It works most the time but can have some stutter depending on the broadcast.
Get a real-debrid account pay for the 180 day package then when setting up the add-ons you choose link it to the debrid account and you’re set. You also have an option of getting a Trakt account for keeping track of what you have watched, I set this up for myself personally but you don’t need it, my dad doesn’t use it.
Edit 1 - I have found a community on lemmy that’s still small but someone brought over the Seren instructions if you don’t want to go to reddit. https://lemmy.ml/c/addons4kodi
Edit 1.2 - Found on the lemmy.ml community addons4kodi
Seren
An addon created by Nix, it works with Premiumize and Real-Debrid to stream torrents with the appropriate provider package instantly, and behaves similarly to Netflix, with autoplay and Next up Dialogs. With source select / Resolver / Next up Dialog and more all theme-able
Warning: This add-on DOES NOT work without either Premiumize, Real-Debrid, or All-Debrid (and only works with the paid premium versions of either service), and the “Smart Play Settings” (Up Next, Auto Playlist Creation, Auto Episode Resume, and Pre-emptive Scraping) DO NOT work without an authorized Trakt account.
Current Version Seren : 2.2.4 SETUP Add https://nixgates.github.io/packages/ to your Kodi File Manager Sources, call it something like “Nix’s Repo” Go to Add-on browser and Install from Zip File, go to “Nix’s Repo”, and install "nixgates.repository.zip " After it finishes installing, go to Install from repository>Nixgates Repo>Video Add-on’s>and install Seren Once you get the notification that Seren installed successfully go back to the home screen Open Seren, go to tools, Open Settings Menu Go to Accounts and authenticate Trakt and your debrid providers: PM, RD, and/or AllDebrid Go to Providers, Manage Provider Packages, and Install Package. Type in https://bit.ly/a4kScrapers A prompt will come up asking if you’d like to install the scrapers, Press “Install”, then Press Okay after successful install Adjust your settings how you like with filters and such and you’re ready to go! :)
Kinda Optional Install Context menu addon. Follow instructions above but where you picked Nixgates repo and then video addons . this time go Nixgates Repo > context menu addons . This will give you much more options when you pull up context menu on Seren Items.

Edit 2 - I was incorrect about above you do need a Trakt account to use the autonext feature of Seren, I have it set up so I didn’t even notice that whoops. It is free and set up is easy and it’s a set and forget feature for me.
I set something like this up for my dad but using kodi and some add-ons then connect it to real debrid. It’s like $20 USD for like 6 months. I was able to get him to cancel his cable since he was paying like a hundred dollars + his subscription services a month.
And I have it running on a firestick 4k so really inexpensive.
Yeah it makes it easier if something breaks or you don’t like it delete it and start again with something else.
Spin up some distros in a VM and give a go it’s fun to relearn how to use a computer again and having more control over what and how you want things done is amazing. I started playing with Linux and VMs in my teens and loved it and wanted to pursue a career in tech. Plus breaking things and fixing them is something I enjoy.
My old job was located out of the city and the times I worked there were no busses running (4am til whenever we were done) so I drove ~30 minutes to work, then work between 12 to 14 hours then drive back, which can take between 30 minutes to an hour if there was an accident. Then only being able to sleep like 3 hours a night then repeat the process was torture.
I’m so glad I was able to get a remote job where now I actually have time during my work days to do other things like actually go to gym everyday and be able to see my family more rather than just work and sleep.
And with Adobe implementing AI into their photoshop tools, like it’s great for photo editing and making a smoother work flow but there’s always the negative side. And they did say that in the meta data it would show that an image had AI used on it but the everyday consumer of media won’t know and or even think of checking into that.

No problem! And ya for how big a company they are this seems like a pretty big thing to be dropping the ball on and with Google making the zip and mov domains I feel like they must be trolling people or something trying to create more problems in the cybersecurity world but that’s up for debate also I guess.

I think it’s a step in the right direction to get users to adopt MFA. I know too many people that still rely on using the same easy to remember password to login to too many accounts, especially important ones and are too “busy” to set up a password manager or even set up MFA through other methods. Having something built in would be good for them. My only concern is that this is something aimed at newer devices and not too much for legacy devices that may not have a Bluetooth enabled desktop. Of course those are probably now viewed as the not the norm for everyone as now everything is done on newer laptops and phones that have everything built in to use these new technologies.
I also don’t like having all my eggs in one basket, like relying on Google to protect my backup codes and MFA options while assuming they will use E2EE while transferring my data, which apparently they’ve already dropped the ball on their new feature of backing up information into the cloud by default.
Edit: added link to article about Google E2EE problem I mentioned above.
Those are fair points but why not use that land to expand cities and homes, especially with the population continuing to grow we will need places to house people and using the land to build only solar farms will eventually have to be either moved when things expand or have to be skipped over and move communities further from natural resources where most cities are built close by already. I don’t think solar will be the 1 technology every region should use to solve the power problem but for sunny desert areas like Nevada, Arizona, Texas etc solar is good. Northern states could other technologies for power generation not just focusing on solar in the end.
