LemmyNSFW was the perfect example of a single subject instance. So much so that it was the only NSFW instance and another one is needed

Linux@programming.dev•Linux Mint isn't the answer for Windows refugees anymoreEnglish
3·14 days agoI have moved two computers from Windows into Mint this year. One worked without any issues. One had a strange WiFi problem with a super old wifi chip but I bought an adaptor for less than $20 that fixed it. Both computers connect to my printer better than with Windows. Which was a present surprise.

6·15 days agoAs a Twin Cities resident we are surprisingly radically progressive. I think it’s important to know how much “work” people did post George Floyd to look at racial bias and systematic change in progressive socials. I know of multiple book clubs of retirees reading books on anti-racism and white privilege. It was eye opening experience here

6·15 days agoI think about that all the time. Especially when people online are like “do something”. We are doing something. Lots of things. Lots of small decentralized things so they can’t be targeted as easy.
I am on paternity leave now and I love it. If my wife was making 12 million I would never go back.

Erika Lust and Make Love Not Porn are my top two examples
Porn magazines have a long history of progressive and more alternative articles mostly closer to their founding in the 60s/70s. A lot related to sex liberation and queer rights but lots of other ideas that were fit for mainstream. They would be more progressive than feminist meaning feminism is included but not the focus.
As for porn being feminist this is a controversial idea but there’s people who say it is. Mostly how it relates to women having sexuality and sexual agency about their bodies and pleasure. I would not call playboy a feminist porn studio like I would for Erika Lust which would be a better example.
So such things as too cold. You just aren’t wearing enough layers.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is more important to you, working hard for a better position or work/life balance?English
9·30 days agoThe most important thing I have learned is working hard when you see directly benefits. Working hard on your own school work or education is a great lesson because it’s all tied to you. Use that same work ethic at a large company you burn yourself for nothing. Own your own business where additional work directly benefits you is a great idea.

If you can hike part of the superior hiking trail do it. It’s stunning and super nice
