Sherman Tanz finally bought a president.
Sherman Tanz finally bought a president.
Yep. Absolute immunity.
All Biden needs to do is declare the 2024 election invalid on the grounds that trump as a convicted felon is not eligible to be President (because he fucking isn’t) and call it an official act.
It’ll be just as legal as anything else Trump is planning to do starting January.
Crandall office furniture!
Ordered a reconditioned Aeron there this Summer for about half what it would cost new and I love it. And since it’s reconditioned that means Herman Miller and their shitty-ass CEO didn’t make anything from me.
Only thing is it had a bit of a funky smell when unwrapping, but it aired out quickly.
If they have a point it’s because they manufactured it.
Personally I’m too stubborn to just roll over and give up. That’s what they want. Don’t give them that satisfaction.
Get involved at the local and state levels. Those are our easiest avenues to affect change going forward.
And over the next 4 years hope a halfway decent candidate that puts the people and worker protections at the top of their list of issues to run on and support the hell out of them. Or if you’re eligible, run yourself. I’d happily support an average citizen running for their peers.
I don’t :/
That’s clean energy, the incoming government won’t care until he turns to oil.

Seriously, if he’s got 2 months before being king FUCKING DO IT NOW.
If the justice system worked his conviction here would be cause enough to be ineligible for office (as well as each of his 34 felony convictions).
Since this happened prior to this term it also cannot be claimed an official act.
Theoretically something could be done about this before he’s sworn in, but I doubt it.
America, we’re really about to give a felon the keys to the kingdom even though the constitution forbids it because nobody in a position of power here cares to go through the trouble. Hope you’re happy.
TBH I would love to vote for a regular working class citizen and would gladly contribute to the local candidate that has values I agree with.
Can only imagine there are others willing to pitch in.
Certainly easier to convince them than career politicians at the national level
To be fair, Florida almost passed it with 57%. The only reason it didn’t pass was because Florida requires a 60% majority to pass a measure.
This is statistically in line with every other state that passed a similar measure.
It sucks it didn’t happen, but that is still an incredible display of progress in Florida.
Exactly. What did it accomplish? Jack shit.
The way to affect change in elections apparently is to unite the larger population around a single person/cause/issue. We just need to find ours and convince enough people.
Personally, I just want a country where we actually let people different than us live and prosper. Why the fuck is that such a hard thing to have???
I have family and friends that are POC, gay, trans, and/or physically/mentally disabled. Why should they have to put up with policies and leaders that vilify them for simply being who they are?
Why do we accept normalized medical debt?
Why do we accept a constantly eroding education system?
Why do we not scale minimum wage consistent to inflation?
I know the real answers, but I think more of the population needs to vote based on the results of them asking themselves why this is the norm and find the candidate willing to fix that shit.
I have a feeling it won’t be an establishment Democrat.
The answer to obstruction at every level of government is to push back at every level of government then.
That means getting involved in local government. You. Me. Us. All of us. Starting now.
True but nothings going to happen until we both demand it and actually do something about it.
The time to be hopeful that one of the major parties has an awakening is over.
Me too but how are we going to get that changed before the next election?
Before ranked choice voting we need at least one party to rally around with a candidate that focuses on popular issues. Once we have someone in office that will commit to those issues we can then talk about these kinds of changes.
A good place to start would be at the state level since states run their own elections. For that all I can suggest is to get more actively involved in local politics than you ever have before.
Of course, that’s assuming we have another election.
We could also do this ourselves, if we could find a way to organize it.
I’m sure with enough attention he’d acknowledge, and maybe support it.
It may sound silly but what’s the alternative?
I think the time has arrived for party diversification. If the DNC wants my vote back they’ll need to earn it back. I have thrice voted for them to avoid a Trump Presidency, and 2/3 of those attempts were unsuccessful.
No longer will my vote be held hostage by the people that will squander it. From now on I vote for who I want, not against who I don’t, since it apparently doesn’t matter anyway. At least this way I vote on my own terms.
Bernie is too good for us, we need someone like him with a shot at gaining popularity for policy stances not backed by one of the large establishment parties.
Even Pied Piper didn’t scale.
