I had this exact issue in popos on it.
I changed a setting in the bios (can’t recall exactly now), and that did nothing.
Recently I moved to fedora 41, and the problem disappeared.
So I suspect it’s a bios setting.
Peak low with Snap.
That’s what made me move onto other distros.

Yup. Put Linux on my old macbook pro.
Breathed a new lease of life into it, when Apple stopped supporting it. Got another 4 + years of good computing out of it, before I accidentally left it at a carpark and lost it.
Linux on that mac was excellent. I prefer the gnome UI to mac and Windows, so was happy.
About 20 years roughly. My mate had one for his TV a long time ago.
Apple are brave that way. I mean, they introduced oled maybe 15 years later in a revolutionary media launch. Amazing.
When the software ecosystem gets too old, slap Linux on it for a fresh lease of life. Did that with my old macbook pro back in the day. Got years more out of it.
