Are those plastic bags full of mercury?! Besides each one weighing a ton, that’s a terrifying disaster just waiting to happen!

Stopped clock. Hell, even a backwards running clock is right ever so often.
They did acknowledge the problem in 2008, when Obama ran the first time and the support from the working class (and other non-1%) was good. Then he quickly turned into a status quo democrat and they haven’t tried it again since.
Royalty (even ornamental) in the 21st century is just an example of having backwards and ridiculously outmoded cultural constructs. I admit that I could have phrased that better.
European résumés include photographs and marital status, which would be an outrageous reach into one’s personal life in the states. It’s not surprising that they’re ok with the idea that bosses should be able to have relationships with their employees and still keep their jobs. I guess that makes the resumes make more sense.
The Europeans had, and still have in some cases, dynastic royalty and state religions and stuff. They’re surprisingly backward in a lot of ways. The personal freedom to use your power imbalance at work for sexual gratification seems like the sort of thing they’d never move forward away from.
What do you call 3 LASD officers who die in an explosion?
The neoliberal controlled opposition is disarmed, because you don’t need personal arms when you have cops and your goal is preserving the power of the state and the capitalist boot.
The actual opposition (who have been disenfranchised by your fellow Democrats), were never so naive and are armed just fine. Just disorganized and excluded from the political machinery.
A reminder that at our level of technological development poverty is a social construct. Whether it’s deliberate or emergent, we can change this at any time.
Ding ding ding. We have a winner!
It’s not the good of the people that they’re thinking of. The US people are just another market to be exploited. Imagine the profits that the producers can harvest
MAD is a nuclear deterrent scheme to discourage anyone from launching nukes. The Samson Option involves nuking much of the world as Israel’s dying breath, even if it’s attacked using conventional weapons.
It’s psychopathic to the extreme.
The present day justification for no-knock raids isn’t even people barricading themselves inside, but worry about people destroying evidence of low level drug crimes.
As if the increased risk to everybody’s life is worth it to make sure that the state’s case against someone isn’t made harder by somebody flushing a baggie of drugs.
The hard dependence of the military on civilian supply chains coupled with the piss-poor maintenance of infrastructure and poor security around it would make the military sitting ducks if they sided against the citizenry.
Then there’s the fact that we have more weapons in the hands of civilians, by orders of magnitude.
Also, the creepy propaganda that we’ve been fed since childhood here has been about instilling pride and loyalty to our country and constitution, not some wannabe king (MAGA cult aside).
If you see someone trying hard to stir up trouble, it may very well be a cop.
They think that staying close will keep them safer. It just makes them easier to light on fire
I like the way you think!
This is obviously just a distraction from the Epstein files, but I wouldn’t mind starting a tradition of each president (and politician in general) retiring from office directly into their own trial.
This Russiagate BS is almost certainly nonsense, but Obama’s hands aren’t any cleaner than the average president.
