It’s documented in every COP report. Our electricity is mostly carbon-free thanks to renewable and nuclear. Our industry is gone to China. Heating with fossil fuel is being replaced with electric installation and heat pumps…

China was polluting a lot more, that’s where a lot of room for improvement existed.

I did read everything and I appreciate your writing! I might give Fedora another try at some point but I’ve stopped distro-hopping for a while now. Manjaro on my laptop for 7 years, Debian on servers, I’m a happy man.

Last time I tried Fedora (around last year), anything installed via the “software” app in GNOME defaulted to a flatpak install.

Thanks for the additional context. I may have misunderstood the announcement 5 years ago as I remember reacting very negatively to that news. Are they still defaulting to flatpak for new apps?

My experience with fedora was the opposite of robust. I’ve tried multiple times over the last decades, my last experience is fairly recent (a couple of years ago) but always disappointing: hardware issues, minor but annoying bugs, etc.

And KDE Plasma has always been neglected by the core team. So clearly not the right distribution for OP.

You’re looking for stability and KDE Plasma. Fedora doesn’t seem to be the right candidate.
Arch Linux (or Endeavour / Manjaro), or OpenSUSE are better candidate.

I’ve just checked here in France. One BicMac contains 530 kcal while a caesar salad contains 402 kcal. A Royal Cheese also contains 525 kcal. Maybe it’s different in your country but here there is a pattern where salad have less calories than burgers.

I’ve always taken for granted all Garmin watches had equivalent battery life, good to know.

All I can say is that the heart sensor is good enough for my usage (running, cycling, sleep monitoring).

Mine is a Venu 2, 3 years old, and it lasts 11 to 12 days. I record activities 3 times a week only though.

I have a Garmin watch and I can’t see any benefit for my usage from an Apple watch. Quick reminder that Garmin watches have 10/15 days battery life and decent privacy 😀.

I’m always surprised by that kind of statements. I had more to tinker with Fedora than Arch, by a huge margin.

The first one stopped booting. The second one decides to reboot after 1/2 minutes and doesn’t stop.

If only my 2 Kindles had lasted more than a year…
