      Yeah…

Fifty-six percent of Democrats and 67 percent of all Americans believe Biden should withdraw “given his performance in the debate,” The Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos poll found, while new highs of 85 percent of Americans say Biden is too old for a second term and 60 percent say the same of Trump. Both men receive 46 percent support among all registered voters, nearly unchanged from the last edition of the poll in April.

Like, did you just learn that polls were literally asking everyone?

The progressive wing is only about 12% of the Democratic voter base. If about 56% of Democrats want Biden to withdraw then at most 12% of those are progressive, leaving about 44% who could be the corporate Democrats that aren’t the first targets of the fascists.

But none of the republicans want trump to drop out? Curious.

Can we just get a mulligan and start over in this political season? Maybe this time don’t get two old guys where one’s slow and crazy and another is a felon and crazy.

This argument is nonsense. It works for them and not for us because they are FASCISTS. This relationship with the truth and cult of personality are essential tenants of fascism. No amount of whataboutism will solve the Biden’s electoral issues.

I’m not trying to whataboutism this. I, straight up, as a voting member of the public, don’t have any valid, electable, choices in the upcoming election that don’t require holding my nose. I’m sick of voting for the lesser evil and hoping they don’t screw things up too badly.

That’s nothing new. It’s always a choice between a giant douche and a turd sandwich, and has been for a long time

No…this is recent (in US history). I was excited to vote for Obama. Clinton (Bill) was a good candidate. Bush Sr…even though he was a douche, was still moderately presidential. Kerry would have been OK.

The giant shit show you’re seeing today really just started in the past decade.

The giant shit show you’re seeing today really just started in the past decade.

It started with Nixon. That was the prototype for modern American political theater. Then Reagan legitimized having a celebrity, glad hander, and straight up fucking traitor in the White House. After that it has been a slow regression from performative politics into reality television.
