Because some genius in Japan wanted to know what would happen if you put a 4×4 drivetrain into a van.
What’s the mirror on the back for?
I’ve seen those in city work vans. I think they’re just for knowing how close to the curb you are or if someone’s behind you.
Ahh, that makes sense. Thanks!
Old-school reversing sensor
The snorkel brings up the value from just 20 grand to 96k on Craig’s list.
Can’t you add a snorkel afterwards? Can’t imagine that’d cost 75k.
They’re saying that people who are buying these sorts of vehicles on Craigslist would pay so much more money for such a simple addition. It’s kind of like how people in the early 2000’s would add a rear wing to their car and call it a sports car; if you add a snorkel, it’s now a off-road vehicle and worth much more in those peoples eyes.
Hope they put a bigger engine in it. The one our company had in China was way under powered.
Wait why is it a shitpost. It’s a perfectly cromulent car.
Dats gud battlecar
I love it.
These are actually a bit of a cult classic in Australia. Very desirable, great 4wd campers.
My guess is the photo is from Australia. The load on the roof implies it, and it kind of looks like Inskip Point, getting onto the Fraser Island ferry.
I could be way off and it’s somewhere completely different. But it’s a memorable vibe and part of the world I obv won’t forget.
I see them around the US as well. But, not many. They’re really expensive relative a common domestic 4WD van.
Japanese cars are more expensive than American here also.
… And there is a very good reason for this
I know, but the commenter I replied to is obviously American and I didn’t want to just outright tell them, and thought it was more polite to just let the implication hang there.
My 14’ trailer, build out to live in it, and my truck to tow it combined cost less than what’s in the OP.
What delica are you looking at? Or how cheap did you get that trailer for?
Well yeah, they don’t break after 20 minutes…
Whoever owns that van is probably a hoopy frood in the best of ways
Hell yeah brother
Look at the snorkel on that bad boy.
It’s practically daring you to try it as a submarine!Slaps roof of Mitsubishi Delica narco sub
This bad boy can hold so much cocaine
Low pressure off-road tires and sexy clearance too. That car is properly kitted!
It’s more a case of some genius in Japan wanting to know what would happen if you put a van body on a Mitsubishi Shogun.
Be Old Later
Will do, brother!
