Former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, on a visit to Taiwan Saturday said an isolationist policy isn’t “healthy” and called on the Republican Party to stand with her country’s allies, while still putting in good words for the party’s nominee, Donald Trump.

Haley, who ran against Trump for the Republican presidential nomination, told reporters in the capital, Taipei, that supporting U.S. allies, including Ukraine and Israel, is vital, and she underscored the importance of Taiwan — which Beijing claims as its territory, to be brought under control by force if necessary.

“I don’t think the isolationist approach is healthy. I think America can never sit in a bubble and think that we won’t be affected,” she said.

The cognitive dissonance is real. How this silly twit can say “isolationism is bad” and “Trump good” in the same breath is truly astounding.

Trump worked toward isolationism like nobody in the last century and if he gets in again, Project 2025 puppetmasters will take that up by an order of magnitude as they create a new Sharia law environment and distance the rest of the world even further.

Trump isn’t isolationist, he just endorses a different distribution of geopolitical allies than Biden and the Democrats.

Stop fighting Russia, start fighting China.

Do you even know what Sharia Law is?

The biggest problem Americans have about Sharia Law are the prohibitions on ushery.

It was a dig at the same people calling for “Christian law” that would vehemently decry “Islamic law”, you donkey.

I’m sure you’re totally right and I meant that as islamophobia and not a shot at Christians.

After all, you’re always right about what you think other people think, right?

Piss off. I despise the misogyny and human rights abuses of both religions equally.

Don’t worry, the little tyke will tire himself out soon.

You keep going, Chief. We’ll just be over here when you’re done and we’ll find you a nice corner to sleep in until we’re ready to leave the party.

I have as much faith in Nikki “doing the right thing” as I do Melania. They’ve bent the knee and kissed the ring mushroom micropenis, and made it very clear who they are. We should listen.

Why is she “visiting Taiwan” as if she’s some important diplomat? She is not currently… anything?

        1. I don’t think she thought she was negotiating anything.

        2. If John Sparkman, George McGovern, and John Kerry didn’t get indicted for violating it, I think it’s just unenforceable law for anyone.

At one point, I actually respected Haley for running against Trump and calling out his constant crap. But she has zero spine. She’s turned out to be just another maga supporter defending him at every turn.

Is that surprising to you? Anyone left in the Republican party cares more about money and power than principles or whatever else you think a politician is supposed to care about.

whatever else you think a politician is supposed to care about.

Technically, that’s the republic. Currently it’s the unheard and unseen masses of staffers and wonks and bureaucrats who hold this mess together. The fancy poster boy people are just there to rally the common folk around a single figure.

She’s fishing for a spot in his administration, even though his chances of winning are going down.

If she had taken a real stand against Trump, she may even have been considered for a spot in a Harris administration to add balance.

My bet is on it fracturing. Cults of personality usually don’t survive the death of their leader, and that’s exactly what Trump’s diehard supporters are - Flavor-Aid drinking cultists.
