House Bill 1365 prohibits camping on streets, sidewalks, and in parks. Cities and counties are required to provide temporary shelter, where individuals experiencing homelessness will receive drug and mental health treatment.
OK my fellow libs. You OK with the homeless camping in your streets, sidewalks and parks? Surely you are! You cannot possibly be NIMBY assholes can you?!
Maybe put your money where your mouth is? Offer the next homeless guy you see a place on your couch. Why not? They too dirty and addicted and insane? All it takes is a couple of months to stand them up, isn’t that right? So take some fucking personal responsibility. (I already know the answer: "NO! WE don’t take responsibility! Responsibility is the governments responsibility! As long an it’s NIBMY!)
I read this comment thinking it was satire, then got to the end and was disappointed it wasn’t a joke.
Look who hates Mondays.
Wow. You suck.
We do bring our guy food, everyone in the neighborhood looks out for the homeless people who live in their little nooks in our neighborhood. No we don’t house them, and no we don’t want them rounded up. It’s fine, they live here. They could go get help from the city or county, they don’t. They don’t want to participate in the economy, aren’t cut out for it and yes of course there need to be more government programs to help. The government is us, isn’t it?
The passage of the bill you cited makes sense. Not sure what you’re upset about. Outlaw camping on the streets, instead offer temporary housing to people struggling with homelessness
I see nothing in the bill about that second part
I’m so very sick of this stupid take.
Let’s move towards making housing affordable. We know there’s not enough housing for our population, so need to build more. Currently housing is used as investments and so there’s incentive to keep it scarse, so maybe need to make it less appealing as an investment. Maybe that means increasing pay; we had a generation that fought hard for a 40 hour work week, but companies took a dump on that generation’s accomplishment by making 40 hours not enough to live off of.
Maybe we need to get better at helping people recover from tragedies. Like people who lost their house to a hurricane and are getting dicked over by insurance. Or people who had a serious enough medical issue that they burned through disability and got laid off while also being saddled with enormous medical debt. Or people who never had a job because they stayed at home to raise a family who find themselves becoming the bread-winner, maybe because their spouse suddenly died or turned seriously abusive where the family needed to escape.
Certainly there will always be some people who are homeless because they continue to make bad decisions, maybe we don’t have to criminalize people existing and doubly so if they are trying but are just victims of the systems we put in place.
AGREED! If Libtards want HOMELESS PEOPLE to have Rights why don’t they OPEN up THEIR doors instead of Advocating for Affordable Housing Social Safety Nets and OTHER things that would help the Homeless. The ONLY way to Show your Support is letting them Sleep on your COUCH!
I too, love parody! This was is hilarious! Love the commitment to the bit!
All this wasted time typing to shame people who for all you know donate days a month to helping those less fortunate.
Why don’t you donate some of your time to the needy instead of typing so much vile vitriol?
You’re a pathetic human with paper empathy.
Fuck you.
My old job had homeless people who’d camp overnight with our permission. I gave them coffee every morning. They were nice and on hard times. Back during the Great Depression, communities came together to help widows buy their homes and to fight homelessness. We are all in this together. The homeless guy in your neighborhood is your neighbor. Most problems with homelessness can be solved by giving them a home or a vehicle to live in.
Squirrels are granted more freedom and dignity than humans in Florida

Nah, it’s about further wealth transfer to the prison industrial complex. Dead people can’t be sold as slaves to farmers.
“The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread.”
Anatole France
We don’t like your existence, so we’re criminalizing it.
Need more slaves for the prison-industrial complex.
So I guess we’ll just die then¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That’s the intended effect here.
Die or leave, either way they can pretend the problem’s been solved
leave to go where?

I hear sometimes there’s buses to Martha’s vineyard
interesting 🤔
Jokes aside, I’m talking about this monstrous stunt from DeSantis from a few years ago:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martha's_Vineyard_migrant_airlift
Apparently it wasn’t a bus, my bad.
Would be nice to see them all organize and descend on Washington, a tent city wave vis a vis the Bonus March in 1932.
I wonder how bad homeless would need to get before major reform. Camps are going to keep popping up until they overwhelm local resources, and then disperse some, a microcosmic cycle of ruralization and urbanization, with greater and greater capacity, and more and more sophisticated systems of public services, trade, and justice, until existing institutions and policies are replaced by popular hobo demand.
What’s more, increasing poverty and homelessness is a major social, economic, public wellness, and national security issue that, in addition to not going away anytime soon, is something I think most Americans find compassion for, and even demand action on, when it’s face to face, people like themselves.
It’s like, as the oceanliner sinks, and the 99% have to fight for a few life boats and a piece of door, while the 1% fly away on a helicopter, the 99% must realize they were always exponentially closer to being in the same boat together than any of them were to being on the helicopter.
homeless people would have a hard time organizing I think. from what I understand they are spending the day trying to make money and eat. this will affect where they choose to live and how far they’ll travel.
No doubt. I’ve seen some organizing though. There are some homeless individuals around me who are members of regional organizations at least. They use technology and organize locally.
Remember that movie where in the future all restaurants were Taco Bell? Well the real future, all public services are police.
Even worse: the police are sponsored by/a subsidiary of Taco Bell
Now you too can be beaten down with a delicious Chulupa Supremetm
Wielded by Chalupa Batman.
And be ruthlessly yapped at by tiny dog with a party hat.
I think that was demolition man, where only taco bell survived the franchise wars
