Actually, hijacking comments for a question; I’m thinking of playing MGS all the way through for the that time. Should I do PC version of PSX or emulated GameCube twin snakes version (or emulated PSX?).

RetroAchievements recently released an achievement set for the GameCube version, so all three check the metagaming box for me. Is Twin Snakes the best or is it lacking anything major?

If you want the retro challenge, play the PlayStation version. If you want an easier time, crazier characters, and just enjoy the game, play twin snakes. It plays a lot more like MGS 2.

Kind of surprising that it hasn’t happened yet, honestly. I feel like this is one of the few remaining big PS1/2 titles that hasn’t gotten a remake. Do Syphon Filter next!

Just port the twin snakes to something other than the GameCube and call it a day.

Can we discuss actual retro gaming instead of has-been publishers selling their old games back to you again for easy profit?

I’m so tired of being relentlessly and aggressively marketed to because

“You enjoyed this thing we did 20+ years ago that was unique back then, but we’re scared of risks now so we want you to buy that thing again please. Remember how much you liked it? Also we want to sue people for enjoying the original if we can.”

      …so tired.
