Konami has discussed the challenges of remaking Metal Gear Solid 1 compared to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, highlighting that the former would be significantly more difficult.
Wow, people here forgot the most important part!
Fuck Konami
Fuck Konami
Sincere question: what did Konami do?
Actually, hijacking comments for a question; I’m thinking of playing MGS all the way through for the that time. Should I do PC version of PSX or emulated GameCube twin snakes version (or emulated PSX?).
RetroAchievements recently released an achievement set for the GameCube version, so all three check the metagaming box for me. Is Twin Snakes the best or is it lacking anything major?
I prefer og psx, personally. I’ve never played the PC version though.
If you want the retro challenge, play the PlayStation version. If you want an easier time, crazier characters, and just enjoy the game, play twin snakes. It plays a lot more like MGS 2.
Give us the MGRR remaster you cowards
Kind of surprising that it hasn’t happened yet, honestly. I feel like this is one of the few remaining big PS1/2 titles that hasn’t gotten a remake. Do Syphon Filter next!
Give us Twin Snakes!
I remember loving the idea of having the MGS2 mechanics, specifically first person aiming, but the limited buttons on the GameCube made using it super awkward lol
Also the first person view made a bunch of fights stupid easy
Surely the fight against Liquid at the end would be harder in first person.
Oh its not locked to first person, you just have the option to look and shoot in first person, like in MGS2
I am familiar; I just mean if you wanted to do a challenge run entirely in 1st person haha
babe wake up! it’s time for your 4pm mgs1 remake
Just port the twin snakes to something other than the GameCube and call it a day.
I don’t think they can because Nintendo published that one.
Literally 1 paragraph article and a tweet. Journalism?
At least it’s on point. Unless you want the author to write what he ate for breakfast today.
They aren’t paid enough to care.
Can we discuss actual retro gaming instead of has-been publishers selling their old games back to you again for easy profit?
I’m so tired of being relentlessly and aggressively marketed to because
“You enjoyed this thing we did 20+ years ago that was unique back then, but we’re scared of risks now so we want you to buy that thing again please. Remember how much you liked it? Also we want to sue people for enjoying the original if we can.”
…so tired.
