Jim Carrey said he was retiring from acting, but now he’s clarifying by saying he just needs a power-rest every once in awhile.

      Yes, yes this is.

      The comedian was recently asked by ComicBook.com about making a sequel to “The Mask,” his 2004 comedy that introduced the world to Cameron Diaz and became a blockbuster with $351 million at the worldwide box office. That number made “The Mask” the fourth highest-grossing film of 2024.

        Also, isn’t there already a sequel “Son of the Mask”. I know it didn’t have Jim Carey in it, but certainly a sequel.

          Plus, they’ve been talking about the possibility of another Mask sequel since 2014, its probably not gonna happen.

      1994… off by a full decade.

      There are plenty of Mask comics if they want to go that route… hell, throw in Concrete as well, open the door to the Dark Horse Cinematic Universe, why not?

      This is starting to bother me. In a matter of minutes, I found this other post on Lemmy which is about another Variety article which must also be AI slop or really poor writing since it says that “Spiderman across the spider verse” is an Oscar winning trilogy!

      The third one is still in production, but yeah, it’s already won an Oscar…

        the animated “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” is in production and will conclude the Oscar-winning trilogy focusing on Miles Morales;

        I mean, the trilogy has Oscars, so this is correct.

          Well, it’s not a trilogy yet, is it? Anything might happen and the third movie could potentially be cancelled (it won’t happen, but it wouldn’t be the first time some important project didn’t make it).

          You should call it so only when the third one has been released!

          It’s really not nitpicking because it feels like journalists are becoming invisible

            Then it would be an unfinished trilogy.

            The weird case is The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, “The fifth book in the increasingly inaccurately named Hitchhiker’s Trilogy”
