    I should be happy about this idea, but knowing big tech all too well, phones will become less and less affordable, the stricter the EU gets.

    Then again, this way maybe phones will become usable for longer, so price-value ratio might become slightly better.

      What? What will be driving this unaffordability? Companies being unable to lie?

      Is that not what we want? For € to go into actual features, held up by publicly and verbosely declared information about a product???
