Donald Trump said Tuesday that Canada will have to pay US$61 billion to be part of his “Golden Dome” space-based missile defence plan — but would pay nothing if it becomes part of the U.S., a message he claimed to have “told Canada” himself.

The social media post came hours after King Charles III delivered the speech from the throne in Canada’s Parliament, which particularly focused on asserting Canada’s sovereignty and included plans for bolstering national defence.

Does a dome have to be arching upwards? This golden dome I’ve been hearing about just makes me think of a toilet full of piss.

      This.

      • they pay us to build it
      • they pay us to run it
      • our people only collect data
      • they get a copy of that data

… As long as they keep paying their bills.

Let’s not use generative AI to make our point, how about that? Stop giving these fuckers your eyeballs attention and pretty soon money, you know pretty soon everybody you know has been at a Diddy party becauseeven if they weren’t, they can make that video.

It should surprise no one that this doesn’t make sense with anti-ballistic missile technology. Even if you were willing to wait for the terminal phase so that you could be sure to block the nukes headed for Detroit and let slide the ones headed for Toronto, you might still see that there is a tiny problem. 90% of Canadians live within a 100mi of the Boarder.

You’d think he would be the one person to learn you can’t actually just unilaterally decide that some other country is going to pay for your stuff.

He’s genuinely a worse negotiator than kids.

I bet he has his hand backwards when playing poker, showing everyone else what he has, but not seeing what he has himself.

Just what Canada needs: a military industrial complex grift program that’ll never work. What an incentive!

Exactly what I was thinking. Also, $0? It would be less than zero for the citizens. He’d also be against all the social programs like healthcare and the like and that healthcare would drastically get more expensive on top of having to pay out of pocket for the insurance.

Days after the USA ambassador in Canada said Trump was done with the 51st State shit. I suppose Trump will rename the ambassador function to embarrassador by an executive order.
