Also the only real reliable alternatives that can be scaled are nuclear fission and geo-thermal, and geo-thermal is only available in some geographical regions, although in the US you could build enough capacity in yellow-stone to supply the entire country, the same namby-pambys that are panic’ing over carbon dioxide don’t want to risk diminishing the geysers. And most of them are also opposed to nukes.
