Just obtained my first ps2 and so far my gf and I like playing:
-
test drive eve of destruction
-
ssx tricky
-
lotr return of the king
-
the warriors
Battlefront, lotr return of the king, and gauntlet dark legacy
Edit: and time crisis Double edit: and dynasty warriors
Dark Legacy is timeless fun
Time crisis yo.
Also Time Splitters more importantly
Timesplitters 2 is a masterpiece
Literally accidentally generationally defining.
Baulder’s Gate Dark Alliance 1&2
Edit: For a different vibe, Super Monkey Ball Deluxe is a lot of multiplayer fun too
So good.
Oh hell yes, dont sleep on these OP. Theyre ARPGs, not CRPGs. Super fun, my friends and I played them for ages. Id love a modern one…
There was a Marvel game like them too but I can’t remember the name
Champions of Norrath 1&2 were made by the same devs, but in the EverQuest universe instead of D&D and are worth checking out too.
Oh yeah! I forgot about those, lots of fun
two that i remember quite fondly for their co-op gameplay were X-men Legends, and Champions of Norrath.
Champions of Norrath and Champions: Return to Arms were fucking STELLAR for local co-op. I never see them mentioned. I should bust out my PS2 and go through a run of each with my partner.
i never played return to arms, but same. i think my brother ended up with our copy of CoN, but i should see if the local retro game shop has a copy.
Return to Arms was everything Norrath was, better! It totally still holds up today! Tons of QoL improvements, especially when you have 3-4 people trying to use the store at the same time hahaha. I loved being able to easily switch from shield to throwing weapon, too.
Socom 2
Marvel vs Capcom 2. Still full price last I checked…8 years ago.
bagman in red faction ii was so much fun
Gran Turismo
FUCK TIME CRISIS ITS ALL ABoUT TIME SPLITTERS 1&2 YOU BROKE HORNY INTERMATIONALLY INFLUENCED IDIOTS!!!
IT’S TIME TO SPLIT!
Time splitters 2
Redfaction 1 with its destructible environments was ground breaking. My brothers and I used to build tunnel forts in the canyon map, but that might not be too interesting these days.
Burnout 3
MGO2 & MHO & GTAO & READING REAL SERIAL KILLER BOOKS
I recently did Samurai Warriors with a friend and that was a blast. Kind of a golden era for musou games. SW2 and Dynasty Warriors 5 and 6 all solid.
I also enjoyed Gauntlet and the Metal Slug ports. I think that was PS2, at least.
Return of the king is so good. I dont know if these still hold up but u enjoyed playing these.
- Destroy all humans 2,
- Dynasty warriors
- starwars battlefront 2 (the real one)
Dragon ball: Budokai Tenkaichi
some of the most unique versus games i remember:
- R.A.D. (giant fighting robots)
- gitaroo man
also one of my favorite co-op
- Tenchu: wrath of heaven
