The federal government’s most recent cuts to the CIFA will eliminate close to one million hours of inspection, laboratory, and surveillance work every year.

They need that money to continue buying mortgage bonds to artificially raise home values for the boomers that vote for them.
Gregor Robinson said himself prices can’t be allowed to fall, so the poor need to continue bailing out the rich like Gregor himself and corporation like Brookfield. The Liberals are also creating laws like C15 that let them hand pick corporation that can bypass the existing bureaucracy they helped put in place.
The next decade will look exactly like the last, and we have the exact same ministers so why would anyone expect things to change?
It is genuinely disgusting how all of this is happening and how there is little alternative (Except maybe the NDP under new leadership, but it’ll take a miracle for them to be able to get someone as PM). I voted for Carney because I was terrified of PP. I didn’t know much about Carney other than he was in business and banking before. I either should have just voted NDP symbolically or not voted at all.
Pierre would have been better than this I’d say, Pierre wanted to diversify trade from the US by building horizontal pipelines for years. He also decried immigrations long before it became a crisis. Now the people that made us monogamous and worse off per capita are trying to fix the things they did.
If 1/3 of your tax revenue and all those equalization payments disappear with tariffs and venezelua displacing us you get a much smaller government. So if we want universal healthcare and government support we need to diversify.
I prefer my human rights.
Pierre is a Trump ass kisser and would have done all of this stuff and far worse stuff.
Harper had a reasonable immigration level, and wanted to diversify globally. So I’m just using that as an estimation, Id be curious what makes you think he’s lying when his predecessor did reasonably at those things.
Harper isn’t Pierre. Also he wasn’t running again last time. Harper had his own set of problems, and I won’t get into them.
With Harper we had a good standard of living. Rents fell relative to income, food bank usage wasn’t as extreme as it is now despite being in a recession. Our dollar was doing well.
What measure were we worse in, some climate change metric that doesn’t matter when taken globally? Indigenous are somehow worse off despite tens of billions in new debt going to them.
I know, when I immigrated to Canada Harper was at the start of his administration. I would rather have his setup than what is happening now.
But we can’t roll back the clock.
