Moobythegoldensock@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are three questions you can ask someone new to know if they are friend material or not?81·4 days agoHaving an open mind is great and all, but once you’ve gathered enough information to take a position you’re not obligated to coddle those who remain willfully ignorant. I’ve personally never found astrology “fun,” it’s stupid woo that encourages people to adopt other stupid woo. At a time when anti-intellectualism is being institutionalized into government policy (in the US at least,) I don’t see how anyone in good faith can actively encourage that.

Moobythegoldensock@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was a fact taught to you in school that has been proven false during your lifetime?45·10 days agoThat wasn’t so much a “fact” told in school as it was a prediction, and it was true for them. Some people carried pocket calculators, but most people didn’t. Some supermarkets has calculators built into their carts, but most didn’t.
Failing to predict society’s norms in 20 years isn’t the same as teaching a false fact.

I’m playing GTA San Andreas on mobile (through Netflix if you interested) and while the game holds up, all the minigames suck ass. I’m likely not going to complete a single one. Maybe I’ll cave and do burglaries for infinite sprint, but probably not.

Ugh science reporting is terrible. “This new tool could stop the cockroaches that cause bedbugs.” See how stupid that sounds?
Influenza is caused by influenza viruses.

I kind of feel like I’m getting a little old for GTA.
Maybe I’ll change my mind after it releases and there’s a good chance I’ll play it anyway, but right now… meh.

Ctrl+Shift+Esc pulls up the task manager, like it did back when you learned it.
